Lo studio si propone di fare luce su alcuni aspetti legati alla vita dell’arcivescovado palermitano alla fine del XV secolo attraverso l’analisi dei beni mobili elencati in una fonte inedita che viene integralmente trascritta. Si tratta di un inventario compilato dal notaio Giacomo Randisi nel dicembre 1476, dopo la morte dell’arcivescovo Paolo Visconti, a evitare che i beni fossero sottratti alla Chiesa di Palermo o portati lontano dalla città: l'elenco degli oggetti esistenti nelle due sedi arcivescovili del Palazzo cittadino e in quello dello Scibene, consente di mettere a fuoco il contesto sociale, economico e culturale dell’arcivescovado palermitano e di gettare nuova luce su un monumento, lo Scibene, di cui si conserva qualche traccia. The study aims to shed light on some aspects related to the life of the archdiocese of Palermo at the end of the fifteenth century by analyzing the movable assets listed in an unpublished source that is fully transcribed. It is an inventory compiled by the notary Giacomo Randisi in December 1476, after the death of Archbishop Paolo Visconti, to avoid that the movable assets could be taken away from the Church of Palermo or from the city. Thanks to the objects existing in the city palace and in the Scibene, the inventory allows us to focus on the social, economic and cultural context of the archdiocese and to throw new light on a monument, the Scibene, of which today there are only few remains.
