Politiche della bellezza: prospettive per un nuovo umanesimo

Sulla falsariga di James Hillman, il saggio mira a capire se la bellezza può suggerire delle strategie politiche – con riferimento etimologico al termine greco polis, città, o meglio comunità – al fine di costruire un nuovo umanesimo. Dopo aver messo a fuoco il concetto di politica e il nesso con la bellezza, si prenderanno in considerazione le teorie della filosofa nippo-americana Yuriko Saito, esponente dell’Everyday Aesthetics e si metterà a fuoco la nozione di cura. Questa nozione può costituire il fondamento di una politica intesa come “strategia relazionale”, in cui le pratiche comunitarie e la cittadinanza attiva possano costruire un mondo più sano e sostenibile. Along the lines of James Hillman, the essay aims to understand if beauty can suggest political strategies - with etymological reference to the Greek word "polis", city, or rather community - in order to build a new humanism. After focusing on the concept of politics and its link with beauty, we will consider the theories of the Japanese-American philosopher Yuriko Saito, exponent of Everyday Aesthetics and we will focus on the notion of care. This notion can be the basis of politics understood as a "relational strategy", in which community practices and active citizenships can build a healthier and more sustainable world.
