Arc and forearc rifting in the Tyrrhenian subduction system

The evolution of forearc and backarc domains is usually treated separately, as they are separated by a volcanic arc. We analyse their spatial and temporal relationships in the Tyrrhenian subduction system, using seismic profiles and numerical modelling. A volcanic arc, which included the Marsili volcano, was involved in arc-rifting during the Pliocene. This process led to the formation of an oceanic backarc basin (~ 1.8 Ma) to the west of the Marsili volcano. The eastern region corresponded to the forearc domain, floored by serpentinised mantle. The objective of these studies was to identify differences and similarities within the progeny of Rhizoctonia solani AG5, which arose from basidiospores produced by the maternal strain ID23. The following characteristics were analyzed: appearance of the mycelium (color, structure, zonation, and presence of sclerotia), growth rate (at 10°C, 20°C, and 30°C), fungicide sensitivity, and hyphal structure. The mycelial color of R. solani AG5 ranged from white/cream to light and dark brown. Abstract The biomolecular affinity of three paddlewheel dinuclear complexes Rh2(µ-O2CCH3)4(H2O)2, Ru2(µ-O2CCH3)4(H2O)Cl, [Ru2(µ-O2CCH3)4(H2O)2]+ for the binding at cancer-specific protein targets was determined by means of DFT approaches. Thermodynamics of axial ligand substitution reaction by models of suitable protein sites was investigated in order to assess the binding selectivity displayed by the paddlewheel complexes. Both Rh2(µ-O2CCH3)4(H2O)2 and Ru2(µ-O2CCH3)4(H2O)Cl resulted to react favorably with most of the examined models of the protein side chains, with higher exergodicity demonstrated in the reaction of Arg, Cys, His, Lys, Sec, thus showing a limited selectivity. Pēc publicētiem datiem melno stārķu skaits samazinājies no 750–900 pāriem 1996. gadā līdz 85–140 pāriem 2017 gadā. Latvijā iepriekš veiktos pētījumos ir konstatēts, ka melno stārķu jauno putnu organismā ir paaugstināts dzīvsudraba piesārņojums, kura izcelsme nav zināma.
