Este artículo analiza los conflictos por los recursos agua y tierra en Cerro de San Pedro, México, cuando una empresa minera canadiense inició una mina a cielo abierto en este municipio. Examinamos diferentes posiciones en el conflicto entre la mina de oro y los habitantes locales, y cómo ambivalentes regulaciones nacionales y organismos gubernamentales permitieron que una empresa extranjera operara sin los permisos requeridos. Strong coupling between surface plasmon polaritons and Sulforhodamine 101 dye

We demonstrate a strong coupling between surface plasmon polaritons and Sulforhodamine 101 dye molecules. Dispersion curves for surface plasmon polaritons on samples with a thin layer of silver covered with Sulforhodamine 101 molecules embedded in SU-8 polymer are obtained experimentally by reflectometry measurements and compared to the dispersion of samples without molecules. Clear Rabi splittings, with energies up to 360 and 190 meV, are observed at the positions of the dye absorption maxima. We investigate the dynamics of strongly coupled surface plasmon polaritons (SPP) and molecular excitations (ME) of Sulforhodamine 101 dye. The SPPs are excited by prism coupling technique on a thin silver film with dye molecules embedded in a polymer layer on top of it. Rabi splittings with energies of 135 and 97 meV are observed in the recorded dispersion relations. Both coupled oscillator model and transfer matrix method are used to fit the experimental results. Analyzing the physiological responses of olfactory sensory neurons (OSN) when stimulated with specific ligands is critical to understand the basis of olfactory-driven behaviors and their modulation. These coding properties depend heavily on the initial interaction between odor molecules and the olfactory receptor (OR) expressed in the OSNs. The identity, specificity and ligand spectrum of the expressed OR are critical. The probability to find the ligand of the OR expressed in an OSN chosen randomly within the epithelium is very low. Ecuador es el tercer exportador mundial de rosas. Cayambe-Tabacundo es la principal zona de producción y presenta una fuerte presión sobre los recursos hídricos. El agua es acaparada por las grandes empresas florícolas, quedando el resto para agricultura/ganadería de subsistencia en comunidades indígenas.
