El escritor, ensayista y militante anarquista Higinio Noja Ruiz publicó en 1932 la novela Un puente sobre el abismo en la Editorial Estudios de Valencia. En ella Noja abordó el tema de las guerras y la lucha contra ellas a través de su protagonista, Guillermo Arjona, un joven burgués mallorquín muy influido por su lectura de las novelas sobre la Primera Guerra Mundial y casi obsesionado con esta temática. Se analiza aquí en primer lugar la figura de Noja Ruiz (1994-1972), prolífico novelista social a la vez que ensayista y pensador libertario de las décadas de 1920 y 1930. A Novel Series of Acylhydrazones as Potential Anti-Candida Agents: Design, Synthesis, Biological Evaluation and In Silico Studies

In the context of an increased incidence of invasive fungal diseases, there is an imperative need of new antifungal drugs with improved activity and safety profiles. A novel series of acylhydrazones bearing a 1,4-phenylene-bisthiazole scaffold was designed based on an analysis of structures known to possess anti-Candida activity obtained from a literature review. Nine final compounds were synthesized and evaluated in vitro for their inhibitory activity against various strains of Candida spp. The anti-Candida activity assay revealed that some of the new compounds are as active as fluconazole against most of the tested strains. Resumen: En los primitivos documentos romances el posesivo solo aparece antepuesto al sustantivo (“(el) nuestro padre”). La posposicion (“padre nuestro”) se empieza a registrar en el siglo XIII en aragones y en dialecto navarro. Considerando principalmente la documentacion de esta segunda variedad, el presente trabajo tiene como objetivo determinar el modo en que el posesivo adquirio la capacidad de aparecer pospuesto. The lacustrine record of Oberwinkler Maar (Eifel, Germany) is the northernmost continuous record documenting the Weichselian Pleniglacial in central Europe - a period characterized by multiple abrupt climate oscillations known as the Dansgaard/Oeschger cycles. Here, the results of a high-resolution study of chironomid remains are presented, with a focus on the earlier part of Oxygen Isotope Stage (OIS) 3 (60-50 kyr BP) covering four stadial/interstadial cycles. During the stadials, the chironomid fauna of the former lake was dominated by many coldstenothermic chironomid taxa, indicating a cold, oligotrophic lake. Resumen: De entre la galeria de personajes interesantes que nos ofrece el convento dominicano de Santa Catalina virgen y martir de Barcelona en el siglo XVIII destaca fray Josep Mercader (profesion 1720-1779). Un apartado importante aunque «intimo» de su obra lo constituyen las once breves exhortaciones que entre los anos 1740-1745 dirigio a las monjas dominicas del monasterio barcelones de Montesion con ocasion de las ceremonias de recepcion y profesion. En estos 20 folios podemos encontrar el discurso que un dominico cualificado dirigio a las monjas de clausura de su orden en dos momentos tan significativos de su trayectoria religiosa.
