Abstract Aims Mitral annuloplasty using the Carillon Mitral Contour System (CMCS) reduces secondary mitral regurgitation (SMR) and leads to reverse left ventricular remodelling. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the CMCS on the mitral valve annulus (MA) and left atrial volume (LAV). Methods and results We retrospectively evaluated the data of all patients treated with the CMCS at our centre. Using transthoracic echocardiography, MA diameters were assessed by measuring the anterolateral to posteromedial extend (ALPM) and the anterior to posterior (AP) dimensions, respectively. Here we provide the data set obtained as described in detail in Estrany et al. (2020, doi:10.5194/nhess-2019-304); a brief description is presented below. A hydrometric gauging station is located where the Begura de Salma River enters Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, a village located in the northeastern part of Mallorca island (Spain). The station was built by the water authority in the 1970s. After years of abandonment, in 2015 the MEDhyCON Research Group installed within the gauge house a Hobo Water Level U20L-04, which measures the water stage by 1-minute readings, accumulating 15-minute average values. Granuloma anulare disseminatum als seltene Nebenwirkung von Allopurinol

During long-term therapy of hyperuricaemia with allopurinol (300 mg/d) two patients developed generalized granuloma annulare. The diagnoses were confirmed by histology; concomitant diseases, especially diabetes mellitus, were not detectable. Following discontinuation of allopurinol therapy, cutaneous granulomas healed without relapse. Hyperuricaemia could be controlled by low-purine diet and medication avoiding allopurinol. The clinical history of our two patients suggested a causal connection between allopurinol therapy and generalized granuloma annulare. For this reason we rate the development of this disease in both cases as a rare but significant side effect of allopurinol. This should …

Quando eu era criança, imaginava que tudo na Itália tinha o cheiro e a forma das músicas de Lucio Dalla. Do primeiro Lucio Dalla. Hoje, Dalla representa um pouco a imagem triste da decadência da parte mais bela do país onde escolhi viver. Um pouco como aquelas virgens deprimidas e infelizes que a religião católica impõe aos seus fiéis. Na gênese, Lucio Dalla era de esquerda, genial, "malgré lui". Em 1976, pouco antes que eu nascesse, seu amigo Chico Buarque, que o tinha conhecido quando exilado na Itália, lhe escreveu uma carta sobre um Brasil em plena ditadura. Prendendo l’avvio dalla contemporaneità, l’articolo analizza la fine della paternità come un fenomeno di lunga durata che riguarda la crisi del codice paterno autoritario e ne ricerca le radici nel piano della ricerca storica soffermandosi sull’Italia degli anni Cinquanta.
