A Noncommutative Approach to Ordinary Differential Equations

We adapt ideas coming from Quantum Mechanics to develop a non-commutative strategy for the analysis of some systems of ordinary differential equations. We show that the solution of such a system can be described by an unbounded, self-adjoint and densely defined operator H which we call, in analogy with Quantum Mechanics, the Hamiltonian of the system. We discuss the role of H in the analysis of the integrals of motion of the system. Finally, we apply this approach to several examples.
On the nonarchimedean quadratic Lagrange spectra

We study Diophantine approximation in completions of functions fields over finite fields, and in particular in fields of formal Laurent series over finite fields. We introduce a Lagrange spectrum for the approximation by orbits of quadratic irrationals under the modular group. We give nonarchimedean analogs of various well known results in the real case: the closedness and boundedness of the Lagrange spectrum, the existence of a Hall ray, as well as computations of various Hurwitz constants. We use geometric methods of group actions on Bruhat-Tits trees. peerReviewed

Objectives: The aim of the study was to cross-culturally adapt the Parental-Caregiver Perceptions Questionnaire (P-CPQ) to the Peruvian Spanish language and assess its reliability and validity. Study Design: To translate and cross-cultural adapt the instrument, 60 parents answered the P-CPQ in two pilot tests. The final version of the P-CPQ was evaluated in 200 parents of children aged 11 to 14 years, who were clini - cally examined for dental caries. The internal consistency was assessed by Cronbach's alpha coefficient while repeat administration of the P-CPQ on the same 200 children facilitated the test-retest reliability via intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). It is shown how the Bethe Ansatz (BA) analysis for the quantum statistical mechanics of the Nonlinear Schrodinger Model generalises to the other quantum integrable models and to the classical statistical mechanics of the classical integrable models. The bose-fermi equivalence of these models plays a fundamental role even at classical level. We assessed the association between exposure to air pollution during pregnancy and anthropometric measures at birth in four areas within the Spanish Children’s Health and Environment (INMA) mother and child cohort study. Recent reports describe the ability of select bacterial strains to bind human norovirus, although the specificity of such interactions is unknown. The purpose of this work was to determine if a select group of bacterial species representative of human gut microbiota bind to human norovirus, and if so, to characterize the intensity and location of that binding.
