International audience; Multisensory integration of musical information is an important process in music reading. Integrate many sensory inputs (visual, auditory, motor) into a coherent pathway emerges during development of musical skill. We hypothesize that more skilled musicians can retrieve information across auditory and visual modalities, activating harmony rules as retrieval cues. The Effects of Perceptions of Parents' Use of Social and Materials Rewards on Prosocial Behaviors in Spanish and U.S.Youth

We examined the links between perceived parental use of social and material rewards and prosocial behaviors across youth from two countries. Six hundred forty adolescents (297 girls; [Formula: see text] age = 15.32 years) from Valencia, Spain, and 552 adolescents (321 girls; [Formula: see text] age = 13.38 years) from the United States completed measures of their perceptions of parental use of rewards, prosocial behaviors, and empathy. The so-called Lapland War between Finland and Germany at the end of the Second World War led to a mass-scale destruction of Lapland. Both local Finnish residents and the indigenous Sami groups lost their homes, and their livelihoods suffered in many ways. The narratives of these deeply traumatic experiences have long been neglected and suppressed in Finland and have been studied only recently by academics and acknowledged in public. In this text, we analyze the interviews with four elders of one Sami village, Vuotso. We explore their memories, from a child’s perspective, scrutinizing the narration as a multilayered affective process that involves sensual and embodied dimensions of memory.
Multimodal accomplishment of alignment and affiliation in the local space of distant meetings

Technology-mediated (i.e. distant) meetings are complex settings that involve distributed participation frameworks and the coordination of actions in multiple interactional spaces. This paper examines how problems with hearing, speaking, or understanding in the overall meeting space enable the negotiation of alignment and affiliation by co-present participants in the same local meeting space. Research suggests that belief in conspiracy theories (CT) stems from basic psychological mechanisms and is linked to other belief systems (e.g. religious beliefs). While previous research has extensively examined individual and contextual variables associated with CT beliefs, it has not yet investigated the role of culture. Modification of the monoaminergic neurotransmitters in frontal cortex and hippocampus by dietary trans alpha linolenic acid in piglets

International audience; The effect of partial isomerization of dietary α-linolenic acid on the monoaminergic neurotransmitters in piglets was studied. After feeding the animals for 14 days with diets containing or not trans α-linolenic acid, neurotransmitters related to the monoaminergic function were quantified in the frontal cortex and in the hippocampus. The partial isomerization of dietary α-linolenic acid resulted in increasing endogenous monoamine levels in the frontal cortex (+55% for dopamine) and was related to a very low incorporation of trans polyunsaturated fatty acids.
