Macular Structure–Function Relationships of All Retinal Layers in Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma Assessed by Microperimetry and 8 × 8 Posterior Pole Ana…

2021

Purpose: The aim of this study is too correlate the sensitivity and thickness values of intraretinal layers at macula in healthy eyes and primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) eyes. Methods: The thickness of different intraretinal segmentations was estimated by means of optical coherence tomography (OCT) Spectralis (Heidelberg, Engineering, Inc., Heidelberg, Germany) with the posterior pole analysis program 8 × 8 in 91 eyes from 91 patients (60 with glaucoma and 31 healthy patients). Macular sensitivity was also measured with an MP-1 microperimeter (Nidek Instruments, Inc Padova, Italy) with a customized, 36-stimulus pattern adjusted to an anatomical correspondence with the OCT grid. Pienten lasten vanhempien koherenssin tunne ja liikuntakäyttäytyminen : Hyvän kasvun avaimet -tutkimuksen tuloksia

2017

Vanhemmat kokevat pikkulapsivaiheen usein haastavana elämänvaiheena. Yksilölliset tekijät vaikuttavat siihen, miten erilaisiin elämäntilanteisiin suhtaudutaan. Aaron Antonovskyn (1987) salutogeeniseen teoriaan keskeisesti kuuluva koherenssin tunne kertoo ihmisen kyvystä käsitellä stressiä ja hyödyntää käytettävissä olevia voimavaroja. Tämän pro gradu –tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvittää, millainen koherenssin tunne suomalaisilla pienten lasten vanhemmilla on, minkälaista vanhempien liikuntakäyttäytyminen on ja onko koherenssin tunteella yhteyttä vanhempien liikuntakäyttäytymiseen. Tutkimusaineistona käytettiin Turun yliopiston toteuttaman Hyvän kasvun avaimet -seurantatutkimuksen aineist…

2017

Iekšējās saskaņas izjūtas (ISI) mērīšanai tika izmantota A.Antonovska (Antonovsky, 1987) Iekšējās saska…

Microchimerism and multiple sclerosis: a study on the impact of the sex of offspring on clinical, radiological, and paraclinical features of maternal…

2023

Background. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disorder characterised by inflammation and neurodegeneration and representing one of the most common causes of neurologic disability among young adults. Over the last 40 years, several authors have confirmed the existence of fetal cells in maternal blood and their pregnancy-related origin, demonstrating that pregnancy may establish a long-term, low-grade chimeric state in women. The biological and clinical significance of fetal microchimeric cells (fMCs) in maternal health is largely unknown, although a role in autoimmune diseases have been hypothesised. Aims. The overarching aim of my PhD dissertation was to investigate the role o…

Optical quality of hyperopic and myopic phakic intraocular lenses

2013

Aims: To assess and compare the optical quality of the myopic and hyperopic implantable collamer lens (ICL) from its wavefront aberrations for different powers and pupil diameters. Settings and Design: Prospective study. Material and Methods: The wavefront aberrations of two myopic (−3 and −6 diopters (D)) and two hyperopic V4b ICLs (+3 and +6D) were measured in vitro . To assess and compare the optical quality of different powers of ICLs, we analyzed the root mean square (RMS) of total higher order aberrations (HOAs), trefoil, coma, tetrafoil, secondary astigmatism, and spherical aberration at 3- and 4.5-mm pupil. In addition, the point spread functions (PSFs) of each ICL evaluated were ca…

Mesure de la performance des agences bancaires par une approche DEA

2005

Using a DEA framework (Data Envelopment Analysis), we develop new performance indicators for integrated retail networks. A methodological discussion leads us to propose a productivity indicator which respects the criteria of controllability and transversal coherence. We then formalise the relationship between a performance indicator of a network's headquarters and the productivity of its various retailers. Finally, we combine these new indicators in crafting a management tool amenable to a system of balanced scorecards.

Deriving electrophysiological brain network connectivity via tensor component analysis during freely listening to music

2020

Recent studies show that the dynamics of electrophysiological functional connectivity is attracting more and more interest since it is considered as a better representation of functional brain networks than static network analysis. It is believed that the dynamic electrophysiological brain networks with specific frequency modes, transiently form and dissolve to support ongoing cognitive function during continuous task performance. Here, we propose a novel method based on tensor component analysis (TCA), to characterize the spatial, temporal, and spectral signatures of dynamic electrophysiological brain networks in electroencephalography (EEG) data recorded during free music-listening. A thr…

Coherent conditional probabilities and proper scoring rules

2011

In this paper we study the relationship between the notion of coherence for conditional probability assessments on a family of conditional events and the notion of admissibility with respect to scoring rules. By extending a recent result given in literature for unconditional events, we prove, for any given strictly proper scoring rule s, the equivalence between the coherence of a conditional probability assessment and its admissibility with respect to s. In this paper we focus our analysis on the case of continuous bounded scoring rules. In this context a key role is also played by Bregman divergence and by a related theoretical aspect. Finally, we briefly illustrate a possible way of defin…
