Evolutionary-based 3D reconstruction using an uncalibrated stereovision system: application of building a panoramic object view

In this paper, we propose an original evolutionary-based method for 3D panoramic reconstruction from an uncalibrated stereovision system (USS). The USS is composed of five cameras located on an arc of a circle around the object to be analyzed. The main originality of this work concerns the process of the calculation of the 3D information. Actually, with our method, 3D coordinates are directly obtained without any prior estimation of the fundamental matrix. The method operates in two steps. Temporal Semantic Centrality for the Analysis of Communication Networks

National audience; De nos jours, la compréhension des communautés en ligne devient un enjeu majeur du Web. Dans cet article nous proposons une nouvelle mesure, la Probabilité de Propagation Sémantique (SPP), qui caractérise la capacité de l'utilisateur à propager un concept sémantique à d'autres utilisateurs, d'une manière rapide et ciblée. La sémantique des messages est analysée selon une ontologie donnée. Nous utilisons cette mesure pour obtenir la Centralité Sémantique Temporelle (TSC) d'un utilisateur dans une communauté. Nous proposons et évaluons une expérimentation de cette mesure, en utilisant une ontologie et des données réelles issues du Web.
Experimental demonstration of 160-GHz densely dispersion-managed soliton transmission in a single channel over 896 km of commercial fibers

International audience; We experimentally demonstrate the first 160-GHz densely dispersion-managed soliton transmission in a single channel at 1550 nm over nearly 900 km using commercially available non-zero dispersion-shifted fibers. This performance has been achieved by using a 16 km-long recirculating loop configuration and an appropriate design of the dispersion map.
Titanium dioxide waveguides for supercontinuum generation and optical transmissions in the near-and mid-infrared

International audience; We report the development of titanium dioxide-based waveguides for applications in the near-and mid-infrared. Thanks to embedded metal grating couplers, we demonstrate error free 10 Gbit/s optical transmissions at 1.55 and 2 µm. With additional management of the dispersion profile, we also demonstrate octave spanning supercontinuum in cm-long TiO2 waveguides.

International audience; We report the development of titanium dioxide-based waveguides for applications in the near-and mid-infrared. Thanks to embedded metal grating couplers, we demonstrate error free 10 Gbit/s optical transmissions at 1.55 and 2 µm. We also demonstrate octave-spanning supercontinuum in cm-long waveguides. We explore the way to improve such waveguides through optimized fabrication process.

In the next decades, the limits of current optical communication systems will be reached unless new solutions are adopted. On of them is the use of a new spectral range around 2 µm enabled by the emergence of thulium-doped fiber amplifiers. In this thesis, we will focus on it in the context of very short distances transmissions on photonic chips.
