Traitement 3D de nuages de points basé sur la connaissance

2013

The modeling of real-world scenes through capturing 3D digital data has proven to be both useful andapplicable in a variety of industrial and surveying applications. Entire scenes are generally capturedby laser scanners and represented by large unorganized point clouds possibly along with additionalphotogrammetric data. A typical challenge in processing such point clouds and data lies in detectingand classifying objects that are present in the scene. In addition to the presence of noise, occlusionsand missing data, such tasks are often hindered by the irregularity of the capturing conditions bothwithin the same dataset and from one data set to another. Given the complexity of the underlying…

Ontology-based multiagent systems using Inductive Recommendations - A new approach to qualify building use during the Design phase

2012

International audience; In this paper we propose a new metamodel to represent data for mutliagent-based simulations. Using this model, we also propose a method to perform the qualification of a building as soon as it is designed. The metamodel relies on semantic structures and allows representing both agents and environment. The representation of the environment use two kind of data: semantic and geometry. The qualification relies, for its part, on reasoning systems.

Query expansion and semantic visualization in information system cooperations : methods and tools for information retrieval

2010

This thesis presents approaches and tools for information retrieval. Our work is part of a cooperation system based on ontologies called OWSCIS (Ontology and Web Service based Cooperation of Information Sources). We treat the problem of information retrieval by providing an enrichment method called QUEXME (QUery EXpansion MEthod) of queries based on analysis of user behavior and using the concept importance notion with regards to query. We also discussed the problem of visualization in the OWSCIS system offering a architecture of service visualization. It is composed of three modules: the request, enrichment and results. The approaches proposed in this thesis have been prototyped and the te…

More restrictive Gray codes for necklaces and Lyndon words

2008

In the last years, the order induced by the Binary Reflected Gray Code or its generalizations shown an increasing interest. In this note we show that the BRGC order induces a cyclic 2-Gray code on the set of binary necklaces and Lyndon words and a cyclic 3-Gray code on the unordered counterparts. This is an improvement and a generalization to unlabeled words of the result in [V. Vajnovszki, Gray code order for Lyndon words, Discrete Math. Theoret. Comput. Sci. 9 (2) (2007) 145-152; M. Weston, V. A Computational Study on Temperature Variations in MRgFUS Treatments Using PRF Thermometry Techniques and Optical Probes

2021

Structural and metabolic imaging are fundamental for diagnosis, treatment and follow-up in oncology. Beyond the well-established diagnostic imaging applications, ultrasounds are currently emerging in the clinical practice as a noninvasive technology for therapy. Indeed, the sound waves can be used to increase the temperature inside the target solid tumors, leading to apoptosis or necrosis of neoplastic tissues. The Magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound surgery (MRgFUS) technology represents a valid application of this ultrasound property, mainly used in oncology and neurology. In this paper

Deformation measurement of circular steel plates using projected fringes

2013

Published version of an article in the journal: The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s00170-013-5276-3 Fringe projection is a versatile method for mapping the surface topography. In this paper, it is used to measure the deformation of steel plates under static penetration. Here, the surface shape changes continuously. Therefore, it is important to minimize the registration time. To achieve this, we apply a method of fringe location with subpixel accuracy that requires only a single exposure for each registration. This is in contrast to phase shifting techniques that require at least three separate exp…

Fixed domain approaches in shape optimization problems with Dirichlet boundary conditions

2009

Fixed domain methods have well-known advantages in the solution of variable domain problems including inverse interface problems. This paper examines two new control approaches to optimal design problems governed by general elliptic boundary value problems with Dirichlet boundary conditions. Numerical experiments are also included peerReviewed

Interactive multiobjective optimization system WWW-NIMBUS on the Internet

2000

Abstract NIMBUS is a multiobjective optimization method capable of solving nondifferentiable and nonconvex problems. We describe the NIMBUS algorithm and its implementation WWW-NIMBUS. To our knowledge WWW-NIMBUS is the first interactive multiobjective optimization system on the Internet. The main principles of its implementation are centralized computing and a distributed interface. Typically, the delivery and update of any software is problematic. Limited computer capacity may also be a problem. Via the Internet, there is only one version of the software to be updated and any client computer has the capabilities of a server computer. Further, the World-Wide Web (WWW) provides a graphical …

Integer linear programming in computational biology

2009

Computational molecular biology (bioinformatics) is a young research field that is rich in NP-hard optimization problems. The problem instances encountered are often huge and comprise thousands of variables. Since their introduction into the field of bioinformatics in 1997, integer linear programming (ILP) techniques have been successfully applied to many optimization problems. These approaches have added much momentum to development and progress in related areas. In particular, ILP-based approaches have become a standard optimization technique in bioinformatics. In this review, we present applications of ILP-based techniques developed by members and former members of Kurt Mehlhorn's group.…

Heuristics for solving the parameter tuning problem in motion cueing algorithms.

2017
