Design, modelling, and analysis of a large floating dock for spar floating wind turbine installation

Installation of floating wind turbines at the offshore site is a challenging task. A significant part of the time efficiency and costs are related to the installation methods which are sensitive to weather conditions. This study investigates a large floating dock concept, which can be used to shield a floating wind turbine during installation of tower, nacelle, and rotor onto a spar foundation. In this paper, the concept is described in detail, and a design optimisation is carried out using simple design constraints. The aim of the article is to reveal the performance of Mārtiņš Stabiņš, a graduate of the Faculty of Automation and Computer Technology (1972; FACT) of Riga Polytechnic Institute (RPI), in the profession of engineer and high achievements in sports, becoming a Latvian champion in athletics several times, to reveal his daily life during his study years in the 1960s–1970s. Despite the fact that M. Stabiņš’ sports achievements have already described, this article summarizes his successes as well as reveals hitherto little-known and unpublished documents about his family, daily life, developments and interests. Nella prima, un gruppo docenti di LS, in servizio nelle scuole di Palermo, guidato dai ricercatori, ha validato alcuni percorsi di Neurodidattica della lingua straniera nella scuola primaria e nella scuola secondaria. Students face several challenges when asked to locate relevant and credible information from the internet. This article introduces three principles for designing online inquiry lessons and documents what we learned from five language arts teachers from Finland who implemented and provided feedback on a learning unit framed in those design principles. Teachers implemented a researcher-designed online inquiry unit in nine upper secondary school classrooms. The unit included four 75-minute lessons sequenced to support the location, evaluation, and synthesis of information students encountered in an online inquiry task. Se describe una iniciativa docente que tenía la finalidad de incorporar los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) en una asignatura de primero de los grados en Magisterio en Educación Primaria e Infantil. Como futuros/as maestros/as, es fundamental que reciban formación sobre los ODS, ya que educarán en la cultura de la sostenibilidad a las nuevas generaciones.
