Improving the Competency of Classifiers through Data Generation

This paper describes a hybrid approach in which sub-symbolic neural networks and symbolic machine learning algorithms are grouped into an ensemble of classifiers. Initially each classifier determines which portion of the data it is most competent in. The competency information is used to generated new data that are used for further training and prediction. The application of this approach in a difficult to learn domain shows an increase in the predictive power, in terms of the accuracy and level of competency of both the ensemble and the component classifiers.

These hydraulic works were used by several civilizations to collect water from springs and to transport it to settlements, sanctuaries and other targets. We study the Dirichlet problem in a domain with a small hole close to the boundary. To do so, for each pair $\boldsymbol\varepsilon = (\varepsilon_1, \varepsilon_2 )$ of positive parameters, we consider a perforated domain $\Omega_{\boldsymbol\varepsilon}$ obtained by making a small hole of size $\varepsilon_1 \varepsilon_2 $ in an open regular subset $\Omega$ of $\mathbb{R}^n$ at distance $\varepsilon_1$ from the boundary $\partial\Omega$. As $\varepsilon_1 \to 0$, the perforation shrinks to a point and, at the same time, approaches the boundary. Sensory neuropathy with bone destruction due to a mutation in the membrane-shaping atlastin GTPase 3.

Many neurodegenerative disorders present with sensory loss. In the group of hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathies loss of nociception is one of the disease hallmarks. To determine underlying factors of sensory neurodegeneration we performed whole-exome sequencing in affected individuals with the disorder. In a family with sensory neuropathy with loss of pain perception and destruction of the pedal skeleton we report a missense mutation in a highly conserved amino acid residue of atlastin GTPase 3 (ATL3), an endoplasmic reticulum-shaping GTPase.
