Abstract The preparation, spectroscopic, magnetic properties, and crystal structure of [Cu(stzxpy) 3 Cl] (stz − stands for the deprotonated form of sulfathiazole, 4-amino-N-2-thiazolylbencenosulfonamide) are reported. Crystals are orthorhombic, space group Pbca, with cell constants a = 15.834(2), b = 17.512(4), and c = 18.79(2) A, and Z = 8. The structure was solved and refined to R = 0.041 (R W = 0.040). The structure consists of mononuclear units linked via hydrogen bonds to form the tridimensional pyramid. The geometry of CuN3N*NCl chromophore is distorted square-pyramid. The syntheses of the tin compounds [LSn]2 (2), spiro-L2Sn (3), [LSnW(CO)5]2 (4), [LSnBr2]2 (5), spiro-L2Sn·SnBr4 (6) and LSn[OC(O)Ph]2 (8), where L = MeN(CH2CMe2O)[(S)-CH(Me)-(R)-CH(Ph)O], and (Ph4P)2SnBr6 (7) are reported. The compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, multinuclear NMR spectroscopy including 119Sn cross polarisation–magic angle spinning NMR (CP–MAS) (2, 3–6), electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (2–4) and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis (2, 2·C7H8, 3a, 3b, 4·C7H8, 5, 6·C7H8, 7).
Synthesis and characterisation of a new class of phosphine-phosphonite ferrocenediyl dinuclear rhodium complexes

We previously reported the easy access to mixed ferrocenediyl ligands bearing phosphine and phosphonite moieties. Using this strategy, a new enantiopure phosphine-menthylphosphonite ferrocenediyl has been synthesised. This mixed ligand leads to original unsymmetrical dinuclear rhodium coordination-complexes. One example of this new class of “quasi-close bridging A frame” dinuclear rhodium complexes, fully characterised by multinuclear 1H, 13C, 31P and 103Rh NMR and optical rotation measurements, is presented. In silico, spectroscopic, and biological insights on annelated pyrrolo[3,2-e]pyrimidines with antiproliferative activity

The in silico COMPARE analysis was performed on 8-[3-(piperidino)propyl]-4,10-dimethyl-9-phenyl-6-(methylsulfanyl)-3,4-dihydropyrimido[1,2-c]pyrrolo[3,2-e]pyrimidin-2(8H)-one, a compound with promising antiproliferative activity, previously synthetized and screened against a panel of 60 human tumor cell lines. The results evidenced that this compound matches the biological properties of Chromomycin A3 and Actinomycin D, known drugs with high DNA binding affinity. Toward Engineering Chiral Rodlike Metal-Organic Frameworks with Rare Topologies.

The establishment of novel design strategies to target chiral rodlike MOFs, elusively faced until now, is one of the most straightforward manners to widen the scope of MOFs. Here we describe our last advances on the application of the metalloligand design strategy toward the development of efficient routes to obtain chiral rodlike MOFs. To this end, we have used as precursor an enantiopure homochiral hexanuclear wheel (1), derived from the amino acid d-valine, which, after a supramolecular reorganization into a one-dimensional homochiral chain-with the same configuration as 1-led to the formation of a homochiral rodlike MOF (2) exhibiting rare etd topology.

ABSTRACT Multidrug resistance (MDR) is the main cause of failure in the chemotherapy of cancer patients. The present study aimed to evaluate the effects of sesquiterpene coumarins of Ferula gummosa fruits on P-glycoprotein (P-gp)–mediated MDR. Drimane-type sesquiterpene coumarins from the fruits of F. gummosa were extracted with dichloromethane and subjected to column chromatography. The effects of the isolated compounds on P-gp–mediated MDR were evaluated in the breast cancer cell line MCF-7 which shows high resistance to doxoribicin (MCF-7/Dox). Abstract IFN-γ inducible protein 10 (IP-10, CXCL10) is a 10 kDa chemokine, which is secreted from various cell types after exposure to pro-inflammatory stimuli. This chemokine is a ligand for the CXCR3 receptor and regulates immune responses by activating and recruiting leukocytes such as T cells, eosinophils, monocytes, and NK cells to sites of inflammation.
