The Earliest Reference to Israel and Its Possible Archaeological and Historical Background
2017
Manfred Görg proposed to read the name Israel on a broken Egyptian inscriptionäm21687, which is now kept in the storage facilities of the New Museum in Berlin. New research during the last number of years has confirmed this reading, although the writing of the name is different from that of the Merenptah inscription. Some characteristics appear to demonstrate that this inscription is older than the Israel stela of Merenptah and may likely date to the 14th or earlier 13th centurybce. The paper will present some ideas about an earlier beginning of the formation of what is generally called Israel and about the way, how this early Israel came about.
Occupational solvent exposure and risk of glioma in the INTEROCC study
2017
BACKGROUND: The aetiology of glioma remains largely unknown. Occupational solvent exposure has been suggested as a putative cause of glioma, but past studies have been inconsistent. We examined the association between a range of solvents and glioma risk within the INTEROCC project, a study of brain tumours and occupational exposures based on data from seven national case-control studies conducted in the framework of the INTERPHONE study. We also investigated associations according to tumour grade.METHODS: Data from the seven countries were standardised and then combined into one aggregate data set. Pooled odds ratios (ORs) were estimated for adjusted models that included sex, age, country-r…
Two new Mediterranean Stenothoe (Crustacea, Amphipoda) from the coast of Israel
2015
Within collections along the Mediterranean coast of Israel, two new species ofStenothoe(Amphipoda) were found. They were found to be living on sand or mud and probably licking the surface of grains.
‘Stars’ or ‘professionals’: the imagined vocation and exclusive knowledge of translators in Israel
2010
Multiplicity dependence of mean transverse momentum in $e^+e^-$ annihilations at LEP energies
1992
A strong increase of the mean transverse momentum [p(t)] with the number of charged particles n(ch) is observed in e+e- annihilations into hadrons at LEP energies, The effect resembles correlations observed in hadron-hadron interactions. In e+e- annihilations the [p(t)] and n(ch) correlations can be accounted for by gluon radiation.

Prawnik jako intelektualista. Przypadek Michaela Sfarda
2017
Ostatnia opis…
A large-area modular electromagnetic shower detector for the CERN intersecting storage rings
1979
The authors describe the design and performances large-area (13 m/sup 2/) shower detector built for an experiment at the CERN ISR to detect electrons and gamma rays with energies up to 4 GeV. The main characteristics of the detector are: a) linearity of the energy response from 0.5 to 4 GeV; b) good energy, time and space resolutions; c) modularity of the mechanical assembly; d) low cost of construction.
