On Response Bias in the Face Congruency Effect for Internal and External Features

Some years ago Cheung et al. (2008) proposed the complete design (CD) for measuring the failure of selective attention in composite objects. Since the CD is a fully balanced design, analysis of response bias may reveal potential effects of the experimental manipulation, the stimulus material, and/or attributes of the observers. Here we used the CD to prove whether external features modulate perception of internal features with the context congruency paradigm (Nachson et al., 1995; Meinhardt-Injac et al., 2010) in a larger sample of N = 303 subjects. During the period 1995-1999, the Sala Parpalló was located in the Beneficència Cultural Center of Valencia, sharing the place with the spaces of the Museum of Prehistory, the Museum of Ethnology and the IVEI. In the investigation it exposed a technical file for each of the 57 self-produced exhibitions carried out in the period and a selection of the studies that accompanied them: the files are displayed chronologically according to the procedures used. Enhanced field-of-view integral imaging display using multi-Köhler illumination.

A common drawback in 3D integral imaging displays is the appearance of pseudoimages beyond the viewing angle. These pseudoimages appear when the light rays coming from each elemental image are not passing through the corresponding microlens, and a set of barriers must be used to avoid this flipping effect. We present a pure optical arrangement based on Köhler illumination to generate these barriers thus avoiding the pseudoimages. The proposed system does not use additional lenses to project the elemental images, so no optical aberrations are introduced. Linear equivalences of norms of vector-valued singular integral operators and vector-valued martingale transforms are studied. In particular, it is shown that the UMD(p)-constant of a Banach space X equals the norm of the real (or the imaginary) part of the Beurling-Ahlfors singular integral operator, acting on the X-valued L^p-space on the plane. Moreover, replacing equality by a linear equivalence, this is found to be the typical property of even multipliers. A corresponding result for odd multipliers and the Hilbert transform is given.

Multi-parameters rational solutions to the mKdV equation

N-order solutions to the modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation are given in terms of a quotient of two wronskians of order N depending on 2N real parameters. When one of these parameters goes to 0, we succeed to get for each positive integer N , rational solutions as a quotient of polynomials in x and t depending on 2N real parameters. We construct explicit expressions of these rational solutions for orders N = 1 until N = 6.

On the existence of at least a solution for functional integral equations via measure of noncompactness

In this article, we use fixed-point methods and measure of noncompactness theory to focus on the problem of establishing the existence of at least a solution for the following functional integral equation ¶ \[u(t)=g(t,u(t))+\int_{0}^{t}G(t,s,u(s))\,ds,\quad t\in{[0,+\infty[},\] in the space of all bounded and continuous real functions on $\mathbb{R}_{+}$ , under suitable assumptions on $g$ and $G$ . Also, we establish an extension of Darbo’s fixed-point theorem and discuss some consequences.
