From Business System to Supply Chain and Production in Japan. Lean production and its roots in Japanese business culture

2009

The Japanese business environment has been studied for many years by researchers and business operators from all over the world. The Japanese culture created a business climate that is different from other industrialized economies. Gerlach defined the Japanese economy as “alliance capitalism” , an expression, which better than others, represents the relational nature of the Japanese society and business system. It is not by chance that the manufacturing and management techniques, later defined as “lean” by MIT authors, were born and raised in Japan. In this dissertation I will attempt to explain why and how these approaches are linked with the Japanese culture and the Japanese business envi…

PSMA6 (rs2277460, rs1048990), PSMC6 (rs2295826, rs2295827) and PSMA3 (rs2348071) genetic diversity in Latvians, Lithuanians and Taiwanese

2014

PSMA6 (rs2277460, rs1048990), PSMC6 (rs2295826, rs2295827) and PSMA3 (rs2348071) genetic diversity was investigated in 1438 unrelated subjects from Latvia, Lithuania and Taiwan. In general, polymorphism of each individual locus showed tendencies similar to determined previously in HapMap populations. Main differences concern Taiwanese and include presence of rs2277460 rare allele A not found before in Asians and absence of rs2295827 rare alleles homozygotes TT observed in all other human populations. Observed patterns of SNPs and haplotype diversity were compatible with expectation of neutral model of evolution. Linkage disequilibrium between the rs2295826 and rs2295827 was detected to be c…

A Viable System View of the Japanese Lean Production System

2011

We highlight the main characteristics of lean production and we analyze them using a viable-systemic perspective. Doing so we consider the lean production with its osmotic interactions with the Japanese business system and we create a framework which highlights the key relations which are essential for the viability of the system.

THE US DOLLAR, THE EURO, THE JAPANESE YEN AND THE CHINESE YUAN IN THE FOREIGN EXCHANGE MARKET – A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

2013

This paper exposes an evaluation of the bilateral exchange rate developments of the US dollar against the euro, the Japanese yen and the Chinese yuan/renminbi and surveys the nominal and real effective exchange rates trends of such currencies over the period 1994-2012. It also briefly reviews the currency composition of the foreign exchange market turnover, pointing out several important features of the evolution of this market after the introduction of the euro.

Japanese, Mediterranean and Argentinean diets and their potential roles in neurodegenerative diseases

2019

Environmental factors are responsible of cellular senescence and processes found in the development of cognitive disorders. The aim of this paper is to compare benefits of the Japanese, Mediterranean, and Argentinian Diet on the onset or prevention of senile dementia (SD) and Alzheimer's Disease (AD). Special focus was on the effects of specific compounds such as polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), antioxidants, and saturated and trans fatty acids. A high adherence to diets rich in PUFAs, monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) and antioxidants may decrease the risk of developing neurodegenerative diseases ; while the predominance of saturated and trans fatty acids possibly rises it.

Mijamoto Musaši grāmatas “The Book of Five Rings” tulkojuma no japāņu valodas angļu valodā un no japāņu valodas krievu valodā kontrastīvā analīze

2018

Maģistra darba tēma ir “Mijamoto Musaši grāmatas "The Book of Five Rings" tulkojuma no japāņu valodas angļu valodā un no japāņu valodas krievu valodā kontrastīvā analīze”.

Oficiālās japāņu valodas atšķirības rakstu valodā no mutiskās valodas

2016

The System of Precautionary Rules For Ensuring Public Safety During a Pandemic in Japan: The Example of COVID-19

2021
