Nitric oxide (NO) has been implied in age-related changes of the central nervous system (CNS) and the central auditory pathway. The present study was conducted to investigate whether the number of NO-producing cells and their morphometric characteristics in the inferior colliculus (IC) and the auditory cortex (AC) are changed with the increasing age of the subjects. Repercusión emocional en el personal de enfermería pediátrica. Revisión Para el personal de enfermería pediátrica, trabajar con niños/as requiere cierta connotación psicológica y emocional. Gestionándose de manera negativa, puede ser causa de sentimientos de impotencia, incertidumbre, tristeza y excesiva vinculación emocional; en caso de hacerlo de manera positiva, se observa una atención integral al paciente y su familia. La falta de herramientas de afrontamiento efectivo ante situaciones extremas en los pacientes, como la muerte, es causa de un manejo no efectivo de la salud.

L'objectiu d'aquest estudi és analitzar els nivells de la síndrome d'esgotament professional (SEP) (burnout) en una mostra de policies municipals, i avaluar la influència que els conflictes interpersonals amb els ciutadans, juntament amb el suport social a la feina del supervisor i dels companys, tenen sobre les dimensions de la SEP i sobre la inclinació a l'absentisme. La mostra de l'estudi està formada per 149 policies municipals. La SEP es va avaluar amb el Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). [ES] En el presente trabajo presentamos un proyecto de biología sintética de nivel profesional adaptado a estudiantes de primer curso. Describimos las adaptaciones necesarias para hacerlo asequible para unas prácticas de laboratorio, tanto a nivel pedagógico como en cuanto a la viabilidad económica de los materiales utilizados. El proyecto pretende la motivación de los estudiantes del Grado en Biotecnología mediante la introducción temprana de la actividad profesional real en biomedicina, así como la adquisición de una serie de competencias del trabajo práctico en el laboratorio imprescindibles para el biotecnólogo en formación.

[EN] University students of experimental sciences degrees usually go to the laboratory of practices without having prepared the corresponding activity. This fact leads to a poor preparation of them translated into an effective loss of time available for experimentation, and a reduced acquisition of knowledge and skills, among other aspects. [EN] The so-called “threshold concepts” are present in all areas of study. Its acquisition by the student represents a milestone in the advancement of the conceptual understanding of a subject. They are often difficult to learn, but when they are overcome they generate a reconceptualization that allows progress and deepening in the subject of study. We present an activity designed to develop a key threshold concept in pharmacology, the drug discovery process. To do this, we develop a practical laboratory project that will integrate both the extraction and search for active ingredients and the simulation of some aspects of their clinical trials in the phase I.
