La ausencia de tratados completos sobre silvicultura en la España del siglo xviii se suplió en parte con traducciones. El botánico Casimiro Gómez Ortega publicó en 1773 la traducción de la obra del agrónomo Duhamel du Monceau Des semis et plantations des bois (1760). En este artículo, estudiaremos 19 términos propios de esta disciplina desde un punto de vista lexicográfico comparando las definiciones en distintos diccionarios y en el glosario incluido en la obra origen y en la traducción. Durant l’edat mitjana, els tractats de falconeria es dedicaven, entre altres assumptes, a descriure els símptomes i malalties que patien les aus, i oferien com a cures pal·liatives diferents remeis terapèutics a partir de les plantes medicinals. Aquest treball presenta un inventari de termes botànics que registrem en una obra del segle xv, el Llibre de Caça, a més dels vocables corresponents que hem trobat en quatre obres de falconeria medieval de tantes altres llengües romàniques: portuguès, castellà, francès i italià. Comparing the outcomes of two different approaches to CEFR-based rating of students’ writing performances across two European countries

This study investigated to what extent two teams of experienced raters from different European countries (Finland and Austria), using their own CEFR-based rating scale (one holistic and one analytic), agreed on the CEFR level of students’ writing performances. Both teams rated one hundred performances written by Austrian secondary school students based on two tasks. The Finnish raters (N = 3) applied a holistic CEFR-linked rating scale consisting of verbatim CEFR descriptors developed in Finland, while the Austrian team (N = 6) used an analytic CEFR-linked rating scale consisting of four criteria developed in Austria. Strong-Verb Paradigm Leveling in Four Germanic Languages: A Category Frequency Approach

We investigated strong-verb paradigm leveling in German, Dutch, English, and Swedish, and found significant differences in ablaut leveling and class change towards the weak conjugation. Swedish favors ablaut patterns retaining a difference between the preterite and the past participle, while German, Dutch, and English favor a common vowel for both forms. In change from the strong to the weak conjugation in Swedish, the preterite is more resistant than the past participle, while in the other languages it is the reverse.
