Feedback linearization control of wind turbine equipped with doubly fed induction generator
2017
This paper focuses on several control techniques of a wind turbine of rated power of about 1 MW. In particular, a wind generator equipped with an asynchronous doubly-fed induction machine has been considered and its dynamic model in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment has been implemented. Starting from this model the feedback linearization control has been derived, and several simulations have been carried out, with the aim of compare its dynamic performances with the classical field oriented control, and with the V/f control. The results allow us to conclude that a DFIG controlled by a feedback linearization technique ensures better dynamic performance.
Influence Diagnostics for Meta-Analysis of Individual Patient Data Using Generalized Linear Mixed Models
2014
In meta-analysis, generalized linear mixed models (GLMMs) are usually used when heterogeneity is present and individual patient data (IPD) are available, while accepting binary, discrete as well as continuous response variables. In the present paper some measures of influence diagnostics based on log-likelihood are suggested and discussed. A known measure is approximated to get a simpler form, for which the information matrix is no more necessary. The performance of the proposed measure is assessed through a diagnostic analysis on simulated data reproducing a possible meta-analytical context of IPD with influential outliers. The proposed measure is showed to work well and to have a form sim…
Active Disturbance Rejection Control of Synchronous Reluctance Motors
2020
This paper describes how the ADRC (Active Disturbance Rejection Control) strategy can be successfully applied to SynRM (Synchronous Reluctance Motor) drives. The ADRC is an adaptive robust extension of the input-output Feedback Linearization Control (FLC). Its main feature is that the nonlinear transformation of the state is computed on-line and not by using the model. As a consequence, any unmodelled dynamics or uncertainty of the parameters can be addressed. The control strategy has been verified successfully with experimental tests confirming the high dynamic response of the drive.

A remark on weakly convex continuous mappings in topological linear spaces
2009
Abstract Let C be a compact convex subset of a Hausdorff topological linear space and T : C → C a continuous mapping. We characterize those mappings T for which T ( C ) is convexly totally bounded.
Correction of the deviations in the retention times with Chromolith columns associated to the flow rate: Implications in the modelling of the retenti…
2011
In a previous work (J. Sep. Sci. 2009, 32, 2793-2803), we reported an interpretive optimisation approach to achieve maximal resolution in minimal analysis time, based on models describing the retention and peak shape as a function of mobile phase composition and flow rate. The method was applied to the separation of a group of basic drugs in a Chromolith column. In that work, we found that the retention factors were sensitive to the flow rate. The reason of the observed deviations in retention times is the increase in the column volume at the applied pressure, which decreases the linear velocity inside the column. This behaviour forced to include a correction term in the model that describe…
Stochastic linearization critically re-examined
1997
Abstract The stochastic linearization technique, widely used for the analysis of nonlinear dynamic systems subjected to random excitations, is revisited. It is shown that the standard procedure universally adopted for determining the so-called effective stiffness of the equivalent linear system is erroneous in all previous publications. Two error-free stochastic linearization techniques are elucidated, namely those based on (1) the force linearization and (2) energy linearization.
Development of Point-to-Point Path Control in Actuator Space for Hydraulic Knuckle Boom Crane
2020
This paper presents a novel method for point-to-point path control for a hydraulic knuckle boom crane. The developed path control algorithm differs from previous solutions by operating in the actuator space instead of the joint space or Cartesian space of the crane. By operating in actuator space, almost all the parameters and constraints of the system become either linear or constant, which greatly reduces the complexity of both the control algorithm and path generator. For a given starting point and endpoint, the motion for each actuator is minimized compared to other methods. This ensures that any change in direction of motion is avoided, thereby greatly minimizing fatigue, jerky motion,…
Quantized State-Feedback Stabilization for Delayed Markovian Jump Linear Systems with Generally Incomplete Transition Rates
2014
Published version of an article in the journal: Abstract and Applied Analysis. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2014/961925 open Access This paper is concerned with the robust quantized state-feedback controller design problem for a class of continuous-time Markovian jump linear uncertain systems with general uncertain transition rates and input quantization. The uncertainties under consideration emerge in both system parameters and mode transition rates. This new uncertain model is more general than the existing ones and can be applicable to more practical situations because each transition rate can be completely unknown or only its estimate value is known. A three-dimensional study of the onset of convection in a horizontal, rectangular porous channel heated from below
2012
Author's version of an article published in the journal: International Journal of Thermal Sciences. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.ijthermalsci.2011.12.012 The onset of convection is studied in a rectangular channel filled with a fluid saturated porous medium, bounded above and below by impermeable isothermal walls at unequal temperatures and laterally by partially conducting walls. A three-dimensional linear stability analysis is carried out under the assumption of an infinite longitudinal channel length. Then, this assumption is relaxed in order to determine the threshold length for the three-dimensional convection to be the preferred mode at onset. Sens…
