Resistance simulations for junctions of SW and MW carbon nanotubes with various metal substrates

Abstract This theoretical study focuses on junctions between the carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and contacting metallic elements of a nanocircuit. Numerical simulations on the conductance and resistance of these contacts have been performed using the multiple scattering theory and the effective media cluster approach. Two models for CNT-metal contacts have been considered in this paper: a) first principles “liquid metal” model and b) semi-empirical model of “effective bonds” based on Landauer notions on ballistic conductivity. In poetry, as well as in a good part of prose works, the rhythm of words is the music that governs reason and emotion. Literature occupies an important place in my creation. In this article I describe the different procedures in which I configure its presence in my music and the main themes in four of my works: Envoi, Como el viento, Maya and Transmutación.

When referring to migrants, the collective representation sees them as recipients of services offered by the third sector and not, in the first instance, as actors actively engaged in associative processes. Addressing the issue of the relationship between migrants and the third sector implies, therefore, proposing a change of perspective that leads to think of migrants (also this rather wide category) not as direct beneficiaries, as victims in need, but as protagonists actively engaged in the institutions or as collaborators, experts, employees, therefore paid, or as volunteers, free of charge.

In this contribution we shall present some anomalies in the musical notation of the anonymous lyric lais transmitted by French chansonniers M and T (i.e. Kievrefoil, Markiol and Nompar), which share the same source, and to which a recently discovered chansonnier fragment (Bo) can be added. The plural attestation of these heterostrophic texts allows to nuance the strict notion of musical error, advocated by John H. Marshall for this very corpus. Finally, we discuss an interesting case (Nompar, str. X) where musical notation can effectively help the reconstruction of a text corrupted in both witnesses.

Background: Inhibition of activin/myostatin pathway has emerged as a novel approach to increase muscle mass and bone strength. Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a neuromuscular disorder that leads to progressive muscle degeneration and also high incidence of fractures. The aim of our study was to test whether inhibition of activin receptor IIB ligands with or without exercise could improve bone strength in the mdx mouse model for DMD. Methods: Thirty-two mdx mice were divided to running and non-running groups and to receive either PBS control or soluble activin type IIB-receptor (ActRIIB-Fc) once weekly for 7 weeks. International audience; This paper presents a method based on shape-context and statistical measures to match interventional 2D Trans Rectal Ultrasound (TRUS) slice during prostate biopsy to a 2D Magnetic Resonance (MR) slice of a pre-acquired prostate volume. Accurate biopsy tissue sampling requires translation of the MR slice information on the TRUS guided biopsy slice. However, this translation or fusion requires the knowledge of the spatial position of the TRUS slice and this is only possible with the use of an electro-magnetic (EM) tracker attached to the TRUS probe.
