Longitudinal Study on Sustained Attention to Response Task (SART): Clustering Approach for Mobility and Cognitive Decline

The Sustained Attention to Response Task (SART) is a computer-based go/no-go task to measure neurocognitive function in older adults. However, simplified average features of this complex dataset lead to loss of primary information and fail to express associations between test performance and clinically meaningful outcomes. Here, we combine a novel method to visualise individual trial (raw) information obtained from the SART test in a large population-based study of ageing in Ireland and an automatic clustering technique. Additivity of affine designs

We show that any affine block design $$\mathcal{D}=(\mathcal{P},\mathcal{B})$$ is a subset of a suitable commutative group $${\mathfrak {G}}_\mathcal{D},$$ with the property that a k-subset of $$\mathcal{P}$$ is a block of $$\mathcal{D}$$ if and only if its k elements sum up to zero. As a consequence, the group of automorphisms of any affine design $$\mathcal{D}$$ is the group of automorphisms of $${\mathfrak {G}}_\mathcal{D}$$ that leave $$\mathcal P$$ invariant. Whenever k is a prime p,  $${\mathfrak {G}}_\mathcal{D}$$ is an elementary abelian p-group.

A coincidence-point problem of Perov type on rectangular cone metric spaces

We consider a coincidence-point problem in the setting of rectangular cone metric spaces. Using alpha-admissible mappings and following Perov's approach, we establish some existence and uniqueness results for two self-mappings. Under a compatibility assumption, we also solve a common fixed-point problem.

On the critical behavior for time-fractional pseudo-parabolic type equations with combined nonlinearities

AbstractWe are concerned with the existence and nonexistence of global weak solutions for a certain class of time-fractional inhomogeneous pseudo-parabolic-type equations involving a nonlinearity of the form $|u|^{p}+\iota |\nabla u|^{q}$ | u | p + ι | ∇ u | q , where $p,q>1$ p , q > 1 , and $\iota \geq 0$ ι ≥ 0 is a constant. The cases $\iota =0$ ι = 0 and $\iota >0$ ι > 0 are discussed separately. For each case, the critical exponent in the Fujita sense is obtained. We point out two interesting phenomena. Fixed point theorems for fuzzy mappings and applications to ordinary fuzzy differential equations

Abstract Ran and Reurings (Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 132(5):1435-1443, 2004) proved an analog of the Banach contraction principle in metric spaces endowed with a partial order and discussed some applications to matrix equations. The main novelty in the paper of Ran and Reurings involved combining the ideas in the contraction principle with those in the monotone iterative technique. Motivated by this, we present some common fixed point results for a pair of fuzzy mappings satisfying an almost generalized contractive condition in partially ordered complete metric spaces. Representations of Certain Banach C*-modules

The possibility of extending the well known Gelfand–Naimark– Segal representation of *-algebras to certain Banach C*-modules is studied.
