We present the atmospheric structure and the fundamental parameters of three red supergiants, increasing the sample of RSGs observed by near-infrared spectro-interferometry. Additionally, we test possible mechanisms that may explain the large observed atmospheric extensions of RSGs. We carried out spectro-interferometric observations of 3 RSGs in the near-infrared K-band with the VLTI/AMBER instrument at medium spectral resolution. To comprehend the extended atmospheres, we compared our observational results to predictions by available hydrostatic PHOENIX, available 3-D convection, and new 1-D self-excited pulsation models of RSGs. Traditional studying for examination versus constructivist learning tasks: Do learning outcomes differ?

ABSTRACT Students' learning outcomes on an educational psychology course which involved studying three textbooks were compared between a constructivist class without a final examination and a traditional class concluding with an examination. Teaching and learning business ethics in a multicultural group

Building on a constructivist learning theory and a case teaching method, this article suggests a mixed learning approach for teaching business ethics in a multicultural group. The purpose is to present the objectives and implementation of the mixed learning approach in a case course with a multicultural group. Based on the students' feedback, we also analyse and discuss the effects of the mixed learning approach on students' learning experiences. Teacher coping profiles in relation to teacher well-being : a mixed method approach

The aim was to investigate teachers’ coping profiles and their relations to teacher well-being. Questionnaire data was collected from 107 Finnish teachers. Theory-driven content analysis of teachers’ responses revealed three coping categories: problem-focused, emotion-focused and mixed problem- and emotion-focused. Next, teachers were categorized into four coping profiles by using latent profile analysis: Low-coping users (21%), Problem-focused-coping users (15%), High-coping users (12%) and Emotion-focused-coping users (52%). “Art as a Way to Life”: Bereavement and the Healing Power of Arts and Writing

Reading, writing, music, and fine arts are widely acknowledged to have therapeutic value to those bereaved. Narratives of coping with the help of arts are commonly told. Yet, the experiences of bereavement and the healing powers of arts and writing are rarely discussed and analyzed in social sciences. In this article, I search for a way to study the therapeutic power of arts and writing on a personal level. Using empathy as a metaphorical tool, I read an unpublished autobiography about a mother's grief and coping process through my own experiences of bereavement. This was a prospective, multicenter study designed to evaluate the utility of MDCT in the diagnosis of coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients scheduled for elective coronary angiography (CA) using different MDCT systems from different manufacturers. Twenty national sites prospectively enrolled 367 patients between July 2004 and June 2006. Computed tomography (CT) was performed using a standardized/optimized scan protocol for each type of MDCT system (> or =16 slices) and compared with quantitative CA performed within 2 weeks of MDCT. This paper presents a proof-of-concept application of an approach to system development based on the integration of formal verification and co-simulation. A simple autonomous vehicle has the task of reaching an assigned straight path and then follow it, and it can be controlled by varying its turning speed.
