2017

The aim of this study was to identify subgroups of mothers and fathers who differ according to the patterns of causal attribution to ability for their children's academic success and failure across early school years. Tell el-'Abd II. Pottery and Potmarks at an Early Urban Settlement of the Middle Euphrates River Valley, Syria. Final Reports of the Syrian-German ex…

2013

The monograph investigates the breakdown of the Uruk world-system towards the end of the 4th millennium BCE, and the roots of secondary state formation in the Middle Euphrates region through the analysis of continuity and change in the Early Bronze ceramic material from the site of Tell el-‘Abd (Tabqa Dam, Syria). This analysis fills a chronological gap for the early third millennium, a period poorly known in the district downstream from Carchemish. It further includes the study of over 1300 potter’s marks, thus offering new insight into the intra- and inter-site organization of pottery production and into a complex and variegated system of visual communication active at a regional level be…

School burnout and engagement profiles among digital natives in Finland: a person-oriented approach

2016

AbstractApplying a person-oriented approach, this study set out to examine what profiles of school engagement and school burnout (i.e., exhaustion, cynicism, inadequacy) can be identified among elementary school children at age 12, a generation also often referred to as the generation of digital natives. We compared the group memberships in their use of socio-digital technologies and related functioning as we expected to find a gap between some digital natives and current educational practices which do not include socio-digital technology in feelings of cynicism towards school. Latent profile analysis identified five groups: Engaged (50%) students, who formed the majority; Stressed (4%) stu…

Enseñanza de los conceptos de cantidad de sustancia y de mol basada en un modelo de aprendizaje como investigación orientada

2007

This study deals with the design and implementation of a research on the concepts of «amount of substance» and «mol». This work is grounded on a constructivistic conception of the learning of Sciences, more particularly on the model known as teaching-learning as oriented research. The developed designs have enabled us to assess the learning achieved by the students from a conceptual, procedural and attitudinal stance. According to our fi ndings we could say that the materials developed and the way we have worked with them have contributed to a more signif…

Il viaggio di Louis Golding in Sicilia

2010

Masteroppgave i idrettsvitenskap - Universitetet i Agder 2016 Studies that have looked at the relationship between training and performance have sown that athletes must practice at lot in order to reach a high level (Côté et al., 2007; Ericsson et al., 1993; Simon & Chase, 1973), and motivation is viewed as an important factor in order to implement the required training.
