Feasibility of a Responsibility-Based Leadership Training Program for Novice Physical Activity Instructors
2021
Most coaches and instructors would like to teach more than just sport skills to their athletes and children. However, to promote athletes' or children's holistic development and teach them to take responsibility and lead, requires the coaches and instructors to first master the skills themselves. Therefore, feasible, high quality leadership training programs where coaches and physical activity instructors are taught to teach and share leadership are needed. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the feasibility of a leadership training program to optimize it and to determine whether to proceed with its evaluation. In the leadership training program, eight Finnish novice physical activ…

PEDAGOGIA DELL'ATTENZIONE
2011
Fostering Self-Compassion and Loving-Kindness in Patients With Borderline Personality Disorder: A Randomized Pilot Study.
2017
The aim of this randomized pilot study is to investigate the effects of a short training programme in loving-kindness and compassion meditation (LKM/CM) in patients with borderline personality disorder. Mechanistic explanations and therapeutic implications of the findings are discussed. Highlights: Three weeks of loving-kindness and compassion meditations increased acceptance of the pres…
Patient Accessible Electronic Health Records: Impacts on Nursing Documentation Practices at a University Hospital
2018
In a Norwegian health region, patients have online access to their own electronic health record and they can also read the nursing documentation. This paper presents a qualitative study made at a university hospital to investigate how patient accessible electronic health records impact on nursing documentation practices. Semi-structured interviews were made with 12 informants from 5 cardiology departments at one hospital regarding how they used electronic nursing documentation in their daily practice and how they experienced patient accessible nursing documentation. The nurses emphasized that they focused on a clear and well-written nursing documentation, but in some situations, they were h…
2013
This study presents a personality evaluation instrument adapted to the vocational setting: the Adaptive Vocational Personality Questionnaire (AVPQ). The questionnaire was developed and tested in a sample of 2160 university students in the final years of their degree programs. The purpose of the study is to validate the questionnaire, providing evidence about its internal structure and its usefulness for predicting scores on a criterion scale. A confirmatory factor analysis combined with a cross-validation design was used: the exploratory sample (n = 879) helped to identify the model with the factorial structure that best fit the relations among the items. As expected, this model had two rel…

Implicitly measured aggressiveness self-concepts in women with borderline personality disorder as assessed by an Implicit Association Test.
2020
Abstract Background Aggressiveness resulting from inappropriately intense anger plays a major role in borderline personality disorder (BPD) and research using self-report measures has consistently found elevated levels of aggression in this condition. However, while self-report assesses explicit dimensions of the self-concept, it cannot elucidate implicit processes that are at least equally important as they guide the perceptions of the self and influence behavioral responses. The present study aimed to extend the research on aggressiveness self-concepts in BPD utilizing an indirect latency-based measure. Methods Twenty-nine female inpatients with BPD and 21 healthy women were assessed with…
