Revision of AUDIT Consumption Items to Improve the Screening of Youth Binge Drinking

This study analyzes the appropriateness of an improved version of one of the most frequently used instruments for the screening of high-risk alcohol consumption. This adaptation was created in accordance with certain limitations recognized by other researchers and in an attempt to adjust the content and scales of some items to a more consensual definition of binge drinking. After revising items 2 and 3, the areas under the ROC curves of the AUDIT and of different abbreviated versions were calculated. Katra sieviete noteiktā dzīves posmā saskaras ar menopauzi un tās nevēlajamām blaknēm, tāpēc ir svarīgi kā šo diskomfortu ikdienā var mazināt bez medikamentu palīdzības. Darba mērķis ir, apkopot jau veikto pētījumu rezultātus un analizēt aptaujas rezultātus, lai izprastu pareizu fizisko aktivitāšu izvēles nozīmi, sievitēm pēc menopauzes. Anketēšanā piedalījās 71. sieviete vecumā no 42 līdz 68 gadiem, kura piekrita anonīmi atbildēt uz 10 jautājumiem par pieredzētajiem menopauzes simtomiem, to intensitāti, un fizisko aktivitāšu daudzumu ikdienā. Orthogonal switching of AMS axes during type-2 fold interference : Insights from integrated X-ray computed tomography, AMS and 3D petrography

We applied X-ray computed microtomography (μ-CT) in combination with anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS) analysis to study metamorphic rock fabrics in an oriented drill core sample of pyrite-pyrrhotite-quartz-mica schist. The sample is extracted from the Paleoproterozoic Martimo metasedimentary belt of northern Finland. The μ-CT resolves the spatial distribution, shape and orientation of 25,920 pyrrhotite and 153 pyrite grains localized in mm-thick metapelitic laminae. Together with microstructural analysis, the μ-CT allows us to interpret the prolate symmetry of the AMS ellipsoid and its relationship to the deformation history. A set of commercial milk and Sicilian cheeses was analysed by a combination of fast field cycling (FFC) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) relaxometry and chemometrics. The NMR dispersion (NMRD) curves were successfully analysed with a mathematical model applied on Parmigiano-Reggiano (PR) cheese. Regression parameters were led back to the molecular components of cheeses (water trapped in casein micelles, proteins and fats) and milk samples (water belonging to hydration shells around dispersed colloidal particles of different sizes and bulk water). The PEA method is currently widespread used for space charge measurements in mini-cables in order to qualify the behavior of semicon-dielectric-semicon compound under electric and thermal stress. The main goal of this research is to quantitatively evaluate the relationship between the thermal boundary conditions applied to cables or mini-cables and the maximum local electric field due to the accumulated space charge.
