2008

This report concerns synthesis, (68)Ga-radiolabelling and stability data of 1,4,7-triazacyclononane-1,4-diacetic acid-7-p-isothio-cyanatophenyl-acetic acid (NODAPA-NCS), 1,4,7-triazacyclononane-1-acetic acid-4,7-di-p-isothiocyanatophenyl-acetic acid (NODAPA-(NCS)(2)) and 1,4,7-triazacyclononane-1,4-diacetic acid-7-p-hydroxyphenyl-acetic acid (NODAPA-OH), versatile bifunctional chelators with potential for molecular imaging. Protein binding and exemplified conjugation are also reported.

Modulation of neuronal phospholipase D activity under depolarizing conditions

1999

Neuronal phospholipase D (PLD) activity was hypothesized to be involved in vesicle trafficking and endocytosis and, possibly, transmitter release. We here report that prolonged depolarization of rat hippocampal slices by potassium chloride (KCl) or 4-aminopyridine inhibited PLD activity. Similarly, PLD activity in rat cortical synaptosomes was significantly inhibited by depolarizing agents including veratridine and ouabain. Inhibition of calcium/calmodulin kinase II (CaMKII) which positively modulates synaptosomal PLD activity [Sarri et al. (1998) FEBS Lett. 440, 287-290] by KN-62 caused a further reduction of PLD activity in depolarized synaptosomes. Depolarization-induced inhibition of PL…

Crystallisation of H3BTC, H3TPO or H2SDA with MII (M = Co, Mn or Zn) and 2,2′-bipyridyl: design and control of co-ordination architecture, and magnet…

1999

The hydrothermal reaction of benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid (H3BTC) with MII (M = Mn, Co or Zn), tris(4-carboxyphenyl)phosphine oxide (H3TPO) or cis-stilbene-4,4′-dicarboxylic acid (H2SDA) with CoII and 2,2′-bipyridyl (BIPY) gave 1-D co-ordination networks formulated as: [M(HBTC)(BIPY)(H2O)] (M = Mn 1, Co 2, or Zn 3; [Co3(BTC)2(BIPY)2(H2O)6]·4H2O 4, [Co3(TPO)2(BIPY)2(H2O)6]·xH2O 5 and [Co(SDA)(BIPY)(H2O)] 6. Structures 1 and 2 consist of double stranded chains of alternating HBTC dianions and dimeric units MII–MII linked by two µ-(1,1) bridging carboxylates. Magnetic properties of 1 and 2 indicate the presence of ferromagnetic exchange interactions within the dimers. Structures 4 and 5 co…

3.17 Synthetically Derived Auxiliaries: Phosphorus Derivatives

2012

This chapter aims to give an overall view of chiral-pool based asymmetric synthesis of organophosphorus compounds more particularly bearing the chirality on the phosphorus atom (P-stereogenic). The enantiomerically pure organophosphorus compounds can be obtained either by resolution of the racemate or by stereoselective synthesis using particularly ephedrine or sparteine as the main chiral auxiliaries and borane as a P(III)-protecting group.

Microwave-assisted synthesis of anhydrous CdS nanoparticles in a water-oil microemulsion.

2006

Abstract Microwave irradiation at a frequency of 2.45 GHz and a power ranging between 22 and 30 W was used, in a water–oil microemulsion at 35 ± 2 ° C , to obtain stable, small, crystalline, anhydrous CdS nanoparticles exhibiting enhanced luminescence properties. The process of nanoparticles growth at different irradiation times was followed by UV–vis spectroscopy. It was observed that irradiated nanoparticles grew faster and their size reached a constant value. The final mean nanoparticle diameter was 2.7 nm, smaller than that observed in a non-irradiated sample, in which particle dimensions slowly increased even after 10 h. This finding was confirmed by high resolution transmission electr…
