The level of interest in smart cities is growing, and the recent literature on this topic (Holland, 2008; Caragliu et al., 2009, Nijkamp et al., 2011 and Lombardi et al., 2012) identifies a number of factors that characterise a city as smart, such as economic development, environment, human capital, culture and leisure, and e-governance. Thus, the smartness concept is strictly linked to urban efficiency in a multifaceted way. A seminal research for European policy conducted by Giffinger et al. Two years later prednisolone treatment was started and continued for 14 years because of nonproductive cough with progressive reduction in vital capacity and CO transfer capacity. Environmental measures lead farmers to use more and more decision support tools to reduce their chemical inputs without losing yield. Imaging system based on crop/weed discrimination algorithms have been developed to detect weeds in field and allow a site specific spraying. These algorithms needs to be thoroughly evaluated before considering a public release and current evaluation are based on real images and are very tedious. SimAField is a software that aims at modeling agronomic fields with crop and weeds and simulate the picture taking process to replace ground truth and allow an automated evaluation of crop/weed discrimination algorithms.

AbstractPasture-based livestock agriculture is a major source of greenhouse gas (GHG) nitrous oxide (N2O). Although a body of research is available on the effect of urine patch N or fertiliser N on N2O emissions, limited data is available on the effect of fertiliser N applied to patches of urinary N, which can cover up to a fifth of the yearly grazed area.
