Estimating Terrestrial Neutron-Induced SEB Cross-Sections and FIT Rates for High-Voltage SiC Power MOSFETs
2019
Cross sections and failure in time rates for neutron-induced single-event burnout (SEB) are estimated for SiC power MOSFETs using a method based on combining results from heavy ion SEB experimental data, 3-D TCAD prediction of sensitive volumes, and Monte Carlo radiation transport simulations of secondary particle production. The results agree well with experimental data and are useful in understanding the mechanisms for neutron-induced SEB data.

Perinatal stress events and burnout among midwives in Poland. The mediating role of self-efficacy
2021
Aim: The aim of the study was to check whether there is a link between perinatal stress events, self-efficacy, and burnout in a group of midwives. According to the Job Demands-Resources model (JD-R model), perinatal stress events may be linked to burnout, and self-efficacy can play a mediating role in this connection. Design: A quantitative longitudinal study. Methods: The research involved 99 midwives working in the Polish public health service. Results: Stepwise regression analysis showed a direct relationship between perinatal stress events and emotional exhaustion (β = 0.12; p = 0.02). The results of mediation analysis suggest that self-efficacy plays the role of mediator in the perinat…

The Relationship between Perceived Emotional Intelligence, Work Engagement, Job Satisfaction, and Burnout in Italian School Teachers: An Exploratory …
2020
The study investigates the relationship between perceived emotional intelligence, burnout, work engagement, and job satisfaction in 238 Italian school teachers. The mean age was 50 years, ranged from 26 to 66 (SD = 9.16). The research protocol included a demographics data sheet, the Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS; Wong & Law, 2002), the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI; Kristensen, Borritz, Villadsen, & Christensen, 2005), the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES; Schaufeli, Bakker, & Salanova, 2006), and the Organizational Satisfaction Scale (QSO; Cortese, 2001). Several international studies already demonstrated an association among these variables. Our resul…

Ion-Induced Energy Pulse Mechanism for Single-Event Burnout in High-Voltage SiC Power MOSFETs and Junction Barrier Schottky Diodes
2020
Heavy ion data suggest that a common mechanism is responsible for single-event burnout in 1200 V power MOSFETs and junction barrier Schottky diodes. Similarly, heavy ion data suggest a common mechanism is also responsible for leakage current degradation in both devices. This mechanism, based on ion-induced, highlylocalized energy pulses, is demonstrated in simulations and shown to be capable of causing degradation and singleevent burnout for both the MOSFETs and JBS diodes. peerReviewed

This study examined an intervention that links task significance (one’s job has a positive impact on other people) to burnout symptoms of professionals working in organizations for individuals with intellectual disability. Professionals assigned to the experimental condition participated in teams designed to enhance the positive impact of their work on others (task significance). To do so, teams focused on a task to improve the quality of life of individuals with intellectual disability. Professionals assigned to the control condition did not participate in these teams, and they continued with their usual work. All the participating professionals answered a questionnaire about burnout…
