Akvaporīnu loma raugu šūnu dehidratācijas procesā

Bakalaura darba mērķis bija izpētīt akvaporīnu lomu raugu šūnās dehidratācijas un sekojošas rehidratācijas laikā. Lai sasniegtu šo mērķi izmantoja sekojošos rauga Saccharomyces cerevisiae celmus: ANT29 - izejas celmu ar AQY1 un AQY2 akvaporīnu gēniem, ANT27 - celms ar AQY1 gēna pārekspresiju, un YSH1172 - celms ar abu akvaporīnu gēnu delēciju, kurus sadarbības ietvaros piegādāja Lisabonas Universitāte. Dehidratācijas eksperimentiem izmantoja šūnas no stacionārās augšanas fāzes, kura iestājās 30. augšanas stundā visiem celmiem līdzīgi. - Objectives : many hypotheses concerning the cognitive functions affected by chronic alcoholism have been advanced. The aim of this study was to test cognitive performance in a sample of alcoholics and to examine results comparing three different models: the frontal lobe hypothesis, the lateralization hypothesis and the diffuse brain hypothesis. - Methods : 51 patients who refer to alcoholism service have been included in this study. Raugu Saccharomyces cerevisiae žāvēšanas rezistences mehanismu pētījumi

Tika veikta divu rauga Saccharomyces cerevisiae celmu salīdzināšana - mēreni rezistenta S. cerevisiae 14 un izturīga pret žāvēšanu S. cerevisiae 77 celma, audzēšanai izmantojot dažādus barotņu sastāvus. Ir pētītas rauga šūnu to citoplazmatiskās membrānas funkcionālā stāvokļa izmaiņas pārejot anabiozes stāvoklī. Vēlāk ­­­par ­­­­vispiemērotāko tika izvēlēta YPG barotne. Turpinot eksperimentus rauga biomasa pirms dehidratācijas tika 3 stundas inkubēta dažādos sķīdumos ar augstu osmotisko spiedienu, t.i. laktozes un ksilīta šķīdumi. Sterol oxidation in ready-to-eat infant foods during storage.

The effect of storage on sterol oxidation of ready-to-eat infant foods was evaluated. Two different flavor (honey -LH- or fruits-LF-) liquid infant foods, prepared with milk and cereals, were stored for 0, 2, 4, 7 and 9 months, at 25ºC. Sterol oxidation products (SOP) were extracted by cold saponification, purified by silica solid-phase and analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) and GC-mass spectrometry. -sitosterol was the most representative sterol, followed by cholesterol and campesterol.
