Criteria for the evaluation of requirements management tools supporting distributed software product line engineering and management

2015

The development of software product lines (SPL) by geographically distributed teams increases the complexity of requirements management (RM) related tasks, making the support of a RM tool necessary. However, the selection of the most appropriate RM tool can be challenging, therefore the use of a comprehensive criteria list guiding the selection becomes essential. The goal of this research is to determine whether available criteria lists include comprehensive criteria for the evaluation of RM tools to be adopted in distributed SPL requirements management. This research answers the following research questions: (1) Do currently available criteria lists for RM tool evaluation allow the assessm…

Optimal Volume for Concert Halls Based on Ando’s Subjective Preference and Barron Revised Theories

2014

[EN] The Ando-Beranek s model, a linear version of Ando s subjective preference theory, obtained by the authors in a recent work, was combined with Barron revised theory. An optimal volume region for each reverberation time was obtained for classical music in symphony orchestra concert halls. The obtained relation was tested with good agreement with the top rated halls reported by Beranek and other halls with reported anomalies.

Diagnozowanie sprawności mówienia w perspektywie (nie tylko) egzaminu maturalnego

2015

The article discusses the difficulties of diagnosing speaking skills in the situation of matriculation examination, resulting from the specific nature of spoken language varieties and texts implementation in these variants. Factors that should be taken into account when formulating criteria for assessing speech and conversation exams are: complex and holistic structure of spoken speech, transience of audible text, the spontaneity of live speech, the power of nonverbal codes, a significant stigma of a dialog, and the influence of situational context on the course of communicative interaction. The analysis of speaking skills assessment tools prepared for the oral examination in the year 2015…

Stormwater Source Control as a Strategy for Sustainable Development: State of the Practice and Perceived Trends

2005

The primary objective of the paper is to draw upon the experiences acquired in many parts of the world to provide an up-to-date summary of the state of the practice for source control techniques and approaches, in a sustainable development context. After a discussion of the prevailing context for urban drainage approaches, three main themes covering techniques and design criteria, institutional aspects and performance issues are discussed relative to source control implementation. The discussion is based on findings from the compilation and analysis of available literature, recently developed databases, the experience of the different members of the SOCOMA group and recent research on desig…

2019

This report shows the possibilities of solving the Gardner problem of determining the lock-in range for multidimensional phase-locked loops systems. The development of analogs of classical stability criteria for the cylindrical phase space made it possible to obtain analytical estimates of the lock-in range for third-order system. peerReviewed

Model selection using limiting distributions of second-order blind source separation algorithms

2015

Signals, recorded over time, are often observed as mixtures of multiple source signals. To extract relevant information from such measurements one needs to determine the mixing coefficients. In case of weakly stationary time series with uncorrelated source signals, this separation can be achieved by jointly diagonalizing sample autocovariances at different lags, and several algorithms address this task. Often the mixing estimates contain close-to-zero entries and one wants to decide whether the corresponding source signals have a relevant impact on the observations or not. To address this question of model selection we consider the recently published second-order blind identification proced…

E-NAUTILUS: A decision support system for complex multiobjective optimization problems based on the NAUTILUS method

2015

Interactive multiobjective optimization methods cannot necessarily be easily used when (industrial) multiobjective optimization problems are involved. There are at least two important factors to be considered with any interactive method: computationally expensive functions and aspects of human behavior. In this paper, we propose a method based on the existing NAUTILUS method and call it the Enhanced NAUTILUS (E-NAUTILUS) method. This method borrows the motivation of NAUTILUS along with the human aspects related to avoiding trading-off and anchoring bias and extends its applicability for computationally expensive multiobjective optimization problems. In the E-NAUTILUS method, a set of Pareto…

Critical Analysis on the NHTSA Acceptance Criteria for In-Vehicle Electronic Devices

2014

We tested a commercial in-car navigation system prototype against the NHTSA criteria for acceptance testing of in-vehicle electronic devices, in order to see what types of in-car tasks fail the acceptance test and why. In addition, we studied the visual demands of the driving scenario recommended by NHTSA for task acceptance testing. In the light of the results, NHTSA guidelines and acceptance criteria need to be further developed. In particular visual demands of the driving scenario and for different simulators need to be standardized in order to enable fair testing and comparable test results. We suggest the visual occlusion method for finding a driving scenario that corresponds better wi…

Biomechanics Parameters in the Vehicle-Cyclist Crash with Accident Analysis in Palermo

2014

The vehicle-bicyclist impact is studied in this paper. After analysis of the accidents in Palermo in the last years, the multibody simulation of the crash is executed by making use of Visual Nastran. Dummy, car and bicycle are those used in previous works. The attention is on a teenage cyclist, because the data on this argument are found in literature with difficulty. The impact is simulated at four different speeds until 50 km/h, with three different positions of the cyclist relative to the vehicle: frontal, side and rear. In particular the injury of the head is analyzed using the parameter HIC and the chest injury is analyzed by 3 ms criterion; the likelihood AIS 4+ is calculated, conclud…
