AN ORDERED PROBIT MODEL FOR THE ANALYSIS OF OVERALL CUSTOMER SATISFACTION (OCS) REGARDING ORGANIC-FOOD COMSUMPTION
2004
Organic-food consumers and some related issues were investigated in the city of Palermo. Consumers were asked to express their global satisfaction regarding consumption of organic food, as well as some other personal information. A survey was conducted from the four main retail outlets specialized in organic-food by interviewing nearly 200 customers. The data were used to analyse the overall satisfaction of the local organic-food consumer. Furthermore, a “discrete choice” model was run by using the overall customer satisfaction (OCS) derived from the consumption of organic food as a dependent variable. A set of other variables were used as regressors. Model outputs identified the key determ…

Most of the phenomena associating pregnancy and childbirth were not intelligible, but some of them could be well justified. Some of the superstitions are followed till the present day, the others for a long time no longer exist.
THE THEORIES AND PRACTICES OF LOPE AND MORATÍN: THE NEW THEATRE AND 'THE NEW PLAY'
2021
Consumer Demand for Environmental, Social, and Ethical Information in Fishery and Aquaculture Product Labels
2022
[EN] Customers' attention to sustainability labels in fishery and aquaculture products (FAPs) has been increasing in the last decades, and the industry has adapted to this growing interest by adopting fish ecolabels. However, there is a growing interest to widen the sustainability concept to include the social and ethical information of the fishery and aquaculture industry and to go further from the voluntary approach on the labeling of these aspects in FAPs. For this reason, using data from 2021 Eurobarometer and using machine learning techniques, we disentangle the characteristics of the FAP buyers that consider the importance of environmental impact, ethical, and social information appea…
Consumer Information Systems as Services
2017
Consumer Information Systems (CIS) are a type of information systems that provides services to consumers instead of addressing users in traditional organizational settings, such as Internet based television. Services typically involve a trade-off between achieving high service productivity and quality. The use of service mass customization to successfully address these issues of both productivity and quality in a service context is proposed. We suggest that the development of Consumer Information Systems as Services (CISaS) may achieve such service mass customization. This paper presents a conceptual framework and investigates how it applies to a set of Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) o…
The Structure and Formation of Customer value in B-to-B Services
2017
This study investigates the hierarchical construct and the formation of customer value of b-to-b services. In-depth understanding of the construction of customer value and the effects of service quality on customer value are the key to effective development of b-to-b services. This quantitative study was conducted through the structured interview method among Finnish business organizations in early 2009. The data consisted of 90 qualified questionnaires. The customer value of b-to-b services was found to be composed of attribute and consequence levels. The dimensions of service quality influenced to differing degrees the formation of the attribute and consequence levels of the customer valu…

Finally, the third chapter contains a review of English and Italian cases dealing with the application of customs in international …
The Exclusion of Women from Inheritance Rights: An Unresolved Issue?
2021
In Italy, the women's exclusion from the inheritance is the principle that structures the property system of the families in medieval and early modern age and the social and juridical organization of these centuries, until the XIX century. Despite its importance, the exclusion of the women has never been an autonomous historiographical issue, but it has been ignored to advantage of analysis centered on the dowry system: emphasis has been placed mainly on the property rights of the women instead of observing the marginalization of the female part of lineages respect to the family wealths. The essay addresses two issues: the way in which statutory and state laws rule women’s exclusion from in…
Pre-convenzioni: un frammento dello Sfondo
2014
In this paper I argue that there exist conventions of a peculiar sort, which are neither norms nor regularities of behaviour, partaking of both. I proceed as follows. After a sketchy analysis of the meaning of ‘convention’, I give some examples of the kind of phenomena I have in mind: bodily skills, know-how, taste and style, habitus (P. Bourdieu), «disciplines» (M. Foucault). Then I group some arguments supporting my claim: (i) considerations about the identity conditions of precedents (D. Lewis) and about the projectibility of predicates in inductive inference generally (N. Goodman); (ii) thoughts about rule-following (L. Wittgenstein); (iii) an examination of some of J. R. Searle’s ideas…
