Are importing and exporting complements or substitutes in an emerging economy? The case of Colombia

The aim of this paper is to investigate the impact of two trading strategies (exporting and importing) on total factor productivity (TFP) and the potential complementarity/substitutability effects of these strategies. In order to assess these effects, robust estimates of TFP are obtained using a general method of moments approach that explicitly determines the ability of a firm's trading experience to affect productivity. Data from the Annual Manufacturing Survey spanning from 2007 to 2016 is used for Colombian manufacturing firms. El cansancio emocional, la despersonalización y la falta de realización personal son los tres rasgos característicos del burnout o Síndrome de Quemarse por el Trabajo (SQT), un síndrome conceptualizado como una respuesta emocional ante el estrés laboral crónico. El objetivo principal de esta investigación fue conocer la prevalencia del SQT en la Universidad de La Rioja. Study engagement and burnout profiles among Finnish higher education students

A person-oriented approach was applied to identify profiles of study engagement and burnout (i.e., exhaustion, cynicism, inadequacy) in higher education in a large and representative sample of 12,394 higher education students at different phases of their studies in universities and polytechnics in Finland. Four profiles were identified: Engaged (44%), engaged-exhausted (30%) inefficacious (19%) and burned-out (7%). The engaged students had the most positive engagement accompanied with the least burnout symptoms compared to other groups.
