La docència d'assignatures d'informàtica en titulacions no tècniques normalment requereix una adaptació de continguts que permeta cobrir la gran diversitat de coneixements de partida dels estudiants. In the last years the quantity of text documents is increasing continually and automatic document classification is an important challenge. In the text document classification the training step is essential in obtaining a good classifier. The quality of learning depends on the dimension of the training data. When working with huge learning data sets, problems regarding the training time that increases exponentially are occurring. In this paper we are presenting a method that allows working with huge data sets into the training step without increasing exponentially the training time and without significantly decreasing the classification accuracy.

Una nuova acquisizione iconografica per la ricostruzione della tribuna di Antonello Gagini nella Cattedrale di Palermo

La recente digitalizzazione di un dipinto di anonimo siciliano nelle collezioni del Museo de Historia di Madrid e il suo inserimento nei database del patrimonio culturale spagnolo ed europeo ha consentito di riportare all’attenzione della comunità scientifica un’importante raffigurazione pittorica della tribuna di Antonello Gagini nella Cattedrale di Palermo. Dopo avere ripercorso le principali fonti documentarie ed iconografiche relative alla tribuna, viene qui presentata l’opera oggi a Madrid, che fornisce un prezioso riscontro alle fonti fin qui note.

The Phycosiphon record in the Ladrilleros-Juanchaco section (Miocene, Colombian Pacific): palaeoecological implications

 Miocene rocks of the Ladrilleros-Juanchaco section, located on the NW margin of South America, contain a high diverse and abundant trace fossil assemblage. The relative abundance of Phycosiphon, together with its morphological variations, provides new insights into the environmental conditions. Detailed outcrop stratigraphic, ichnological, and geochemical analyses carried out in the section focused on the trace fossil assemblages (distribution, relative abundance), ichnofabric index, and, especially, in the general ichnological features of Phycosiphon .
