Symbiotic associations between animals and microbes are ubiquitous in nature, with an estimated 15% of all insect species harboring intracellular bacterial symbionts. Most bacterial symbionts share many genomic features including small genomes, nucleotide composition bias, high coding density, and a paucity of mobile DNA, consistent with long-term host association. Piemērojamais likums pārrobežu ceļu satiksmes negadījumos

Maģistra darbā aplūkota pārrobežu ceļu satiksmes negadījumu tiesību aktu piemērojamības problemātika, kas nav plaši pētīta, bet ir nozīmīga starptautisko privāttiesību sastāvdaļa, skatot ceļu satiksmes negadījumu lietas, kurās ir ārvalsts elements. Darba mērķis ir apzināt pārrobežu ceļu satiksmes negadījumu piemērojamā likuma kritērijus un to ietvaru. Lai to sasniegtu, autore pētīs Hāgas konvencijas un Roma II regulas tiesību normu saturu, kā arī to praktisku piemērojamību. Darbā iegūtie rezultāti: autore piedāvā izveidot vienotu tiesisko pieeju pārrobežu ceļu satiksmes negadījumos, ES teritorijā piemērojot tikai Roma II regulas tiesību normas.
Chemical and isotopic characterization of rainwater in volcanic, urban and industrial areas of Sicily (Italy)

The chemical composition of rainwater depends on (i) the dissolution of gases and particulate matter emitted by different sources, (ii) the chemical and physical reactions occurring during local and regional scale transport, and (iii) removal processes. The source of major and trace elements dissolved in rainwater can be both natural (e.g. sea salts, volcanic emissions, geogenic dust, biogenic material) and anthropogenic (e.g. industrial plants, vehicular traffic, domestic heating, vessel traffic). Residual a posteriori error estimation for frictional contact with Nitsche method

We consider frictional contact problems in small strain elasticity discretized with finite elements and Nitsche method. Both bilateral and unilateral contact problems are taken into account, as well as both Tresca and Coulomb models for the friction. We derive residual a posteriori error estimates for each friction model, following [Chouly et al, IMA J. Numer. Anal. (38) 2018, pp. 921-954]. For the incomplete variant of Nitsche, we prove an upper bound for the dual norm of the residual, for Tresca and Coulomb friction, without any extra regularity and without a saturation assumption. ANOTĀCIJA Promocijas darbs izstrādāts Latvijas Valsts mežzinātnes institūtā „Silava”. Pētījuma mērķis bija identificēt aktīvos retrotranspozonus parastās priedes (Pinus sylvestris L.) genomā un raksturot to transkripcijas līmeni dažādu stresa veidu ietekmē kontrolētos apstākļos. Pētījumā izmantoti nespecifiskie retrotranspozonu marķieri balstīti uz augsti konservatīvām tRNS piesaistes vietām. Viena klona priežu rametus pakļāva dabā izplatītam karstuma stresam, kukaiņu invāzijai (priežu hermess (Pineus pini L.), kā arī mākslīgi izraisītai augu hormonu (abscīzskābes un salicilskābes) ietekmei. El objetivo del presente trabajo está encaminado al estudio de las variaciones de oligoelementos en la concha de un gasterópodo de agua dulce del género Melanopsis (U dufouri (FERUSSAC), con dos morfotipos) y si éstas tienen que ver, o no, con la fluctuación de una serie de parámetros ambientales. In this work we study systematically the energetics and intensity distributions of Gamow-Teller (GT ± )and isovector spin monopole (IVSM ± ) transitions from the ground states of the pairs ( 76 Ge, 76 Se), ( 82 Se, 82 Kr), ( 100 Mo, 100 Ru), ( 116 Cd, 116 Sn), ( 128 Te, 128 Xe), ( 130 Te, 130 Xe), and ( 136 Xe, 136 Ba), of double-beta-decay initial and final nuclei, to the J π = 1 + excited states of the intermediate odd-odd nuclei 76 As, 82 Br, 100 Tc, 116 In, 128 , 130 I, and 136 Cs. Low‐Valent Germanylidene Anions: Efficient Single‐Site Nucleophiles for Activation of Small Molecules

Abstract Rare mononuclear and helical chain low‐valent germanylidene anions supported by cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbene and hypermetallyl ligands were synthesised by stepwise reduction from corresponding germylene precursors via stable and isolable germanium radicals. The electronic structures of the anions can be described with ylidene and ylidone resonance forms with the Ge−C π‐electrons capable of binding even weak electrophiles. The germanylidene anions reacted with CO2 to give μ‐CO2‐κC:κO complexes, a rare coordination mode for low‐valent germanium and inaccessible for the related neutral germylones.
