The transport of polyamines through the liquid membranes with di‐2‐ethylhexyl phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) was investigated. The study was performed in three main steps: liquid–liquid extraction (LLE), bulk liquid membrane (BLM) extraction, and supported liquid membrane (SLM) extraction. Equilibrium distribution experiments allowed determining the extraction constants and stoichiometric coefficients for each polyamine. It turned out that one amino group binds two molecules of carrier (one D2EHPA dimer) and the extractability of polyamine rises with the increase in number of function groups in the molecule. In this paper we develop and estimate a new Bayesian DSGE model for the Spanish economy that has been designed to evaluate different structural reforms. The small open economy model incorporates a banking sector, consumers and entrepreneurs who accumulate debt, and a rich fiscal structure and monopolistic competition in products and labor markets, for a country in a currency union, with no independent monetary policy. The model can be used to evaluate ex-ante and ex-post policies and structural reforms and to decompose the evolution of macroeconomic aggregates according to different shocks. The synthesis of N-methylmorpholine N-oxide by oxidation of N-methylmorpholine with hydrogen peroxide was implemented in a microstructured reactor for increased safety and larger-scale applications. The active oxidant, peroxymonocarbonate HCO4− is formed in situ from the equilibrium reaction of hydrogen peroxide and bicarbonate. The bicarbonate can be induced by hydration of carbon dioxide. Elaborate studies on the influence of the catalyst concentration and temperature were carried out and the observed activation energy was determined. Abstract The influence of the lack of thermal equilibrium between the solid phase and the fluid phase on the convective instability in a porous medium is studied. A horizontal layer with parallel and impermeable bounding walls is considered. The lower wall is assumed to be isoflux, and the upper wall isothermal. The basic motionless state is perturbed with small-amplitude disturbances, so that a linear analysis of the instability is carried out with a streamfunction-temperature formulation of the local balance equations. The present contribution proposes a formulation based on the use of hybrid equilibrium elements (HEEs), for the analysis of inter-element delamination and fracture propagation problems. HEEs are defined in terms of quadratic stress fields, which strongly verify both the homogeneous and inter-element equilibrium equations and they are employed with interfaces, initially exhibiting rigid behavior, embedded at the elements’ sides. Abstract The formation of a large-scale coherent structure (a condensate) as a result of the long time evolution of the initial value problem of a classical partial differential nonlinear wave equation is considered. We consider the nonintegrable and unforced defocusing NonLinear Schrodinger (NLS) equation as a representative model. In spite of the formal reversibility of the NLS equation, the nonlinear wave exhibits an irreversible evolution towards a thermodynamic equilibrium state. Abstract This paper focuses on the energy budget in the calculation of unsteady free-surface flows on moving grids with and without using the ‘arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian’ (ALE) formulation or hydrostatic-pressure assumption. The numerical tool is an in-house general-purpose solver for the unsteady, incompressible and homogeneous Navier–Stokes equations in a Cartesian domain. An explicit fractional-step method and co-located finite-volume method are used for the second-order accurate integrations in time and space.
