Impact Evaluation of Innovative Selective Harmonic Mitigation Algorithm for Cascaded H-Bridge Inverter on IPMSM Drive Application
2021
This paper presents a detailed analysis of the use of a novel Harmonic Mitigation algorithm for Cascaded H-Bridge Multilevel Inverter in electrical drives for the transportation field. For this purpose, an enhanced mathematical model of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM), that takes into account simultaneously saturation, cross-coupling, spatial harmonics, and iron loss effects, has been used. In detail, this model allows estimating accurately the efficiency and the torque ripple of the IPMSM, crucial parameters for transportation applications. Moreover, two traditional pulse width modulation strategies, Sinusoidal Phase-Shifted and Switching Frequency Optimal Phase-Shifted…
Evaluation and Self-Evaluation in Simultaneous Translation: Assessments Methods
2012
Abstract The nature of evaluation and self-evaluation in simultaneous interpretation is based on the close connection between the main text (the version proposed by the speaker) and the interpreter's version. Between these two elements a number of variables emerge, that can damage the efficiency and the accuracy of simultaneous interpretation. The intention of our study is to propose a set of scientific methods and tools in order to offer to the interpreter the possibility of a self-assessment and the benefit of an appropriate evaluation of his work. In order to achieve these goals we used several methods, including experiments, case studies, questionnaires, evaluation scales. Research subj…
Pilotażowe badania sensoryczne autorskich receptur preparatów kosmetycznych z zawartością śluzu ślimaka
2017
How to get things done in social virtual reality : A study of team cohesion in social virtual reality–enabled teams
2022
Social virtual reality (SVR) enables teams to operate in a virtual environment that simulates and enhances real-world interactions. However, there is an absence of empirical analysis of how SVR can affect the performance of virtual teams. This paper documents how SVR affects the formation of team cohesion (i.e., task cohesion and social cohesion), which is a critical success factor for team performance. To address this gap in the research, we conducted a qualitative study by interviewing 20 members from virtual teams assigned to perform a challenging collaborative task in SVR. As a contribution, our study identifies five primary affordances and 11 sub-affordances for team cohesion in SVR. W…
Does technical risk dialogue entail socioeconomic valuation? : The case of scientific dispute over copper corrosion in a spent nuclear fuel disposal …
2016
Among the proponents of nuclear power, the project for the safe and secure disposal of spent nuclear fuel (SNF) in Finland is often deemed as a success story. Opponents have had difficulties getting publicity for their claims about the risks of the project. Their most powerful arguments have been mostly ethical, but on technical issues the opponents have been in a weaker position than the proponents. However, recently the risk of corrosion in oxygen-free water has become subject to scientific controversy, possibly threatening even the realisation of the final disposal of spent nuclear fuel. In Sweden, this issue has been intensively debated since 2007, but only recently has this debate take…
Criteria for the evaluation of requirements management tools supporting distributed software product line engineering and management
2015
The development of software product lines (SPL) by geographically distributed teams increases the complexity of requirements management (RM) related tasks, making the support of a RM tool necessary. However, the selection of the most appropriate RM tool can be challenging, therefore the use of a comprehensive criteria list guiding the selection becomes essential. The goal of this research is to determine whether available criteria lists include comprehensive criteria for the evaluation of RM tools to be adopted in distributed SPL requirements management. This research answers the following research questions: (1) Do currently available criteria lists for RM tool evaluation allow the assessm…
Medical Software Needs Calm Compliance
2022
The promise of calm computing, a concept introduced by Mark Weiser more than 20 years ago, has been mostly realized today. For instance, as an end user, you expect to interact during your daily routine with a multitude of sophisticated services and applications without being aware of their technical implementation. All you need is a smartphone and an always-on Internet connection. peerReviewed
Optical quality of hyperopic and myopic phakic intraocular lenses
2013
Aims: To assess and compare the optical quality of the myopic and hyperopic implantable collamer lens (ICL) from its wavefront aberrations for different powers and pupil diameters. Settings and Design: Prospective study. Material and Methods: The wavefront aberrations of two myopic (−3 and −6 diopters (D)) and two hyperopic V4b ICLs (+3 and +6D) were measured in vitro . To assess and compare the optical quality of different powers of ICLs, we analyzed the root mean square (RMS) of total higher order aberrations (HOAs), trefoil, coma, tetrafoil, secondary astigmatism, and spherical aberration at 3- and 4.5-mm pupil. In addition, the point spread functions (PSFs) of each ICL evaluated were ca…
Results of a dental care protocol for mentally handicapped patients set in a primary health care area in Spain
2007
Objective: Disabled people have the same right as other people to receive the health care they need, but they sometimes have difficulties to achieve it. In Castilla y Leon it has come into effect a law to guarantee Primary and Secondary Care coordination to provide dental treatment under sedation or anaesthesia to mentally disabled people who need it. Our aim is to evaluate the results of the implementation of such a law through a specific protocol in our health setting. Study design: Descriptive, made in a Health Area over a year, on mentally disabled people who were sent to hospital for treatment under anaesthesia after Primary Dental Care Units assessment. It has been studied the age, ge…
The group supervision: From institutional analysis to clinical discussion
2009
Group Supervision: topics, process and outcome Di Falco G., Ferraro A M., Pruiti Ciarello F , Giunta S., Giannone F., Di Blasi M., Lo Verso G. Clinical supervision has been defined as a 'dynamic, interpersonally-focused experience which promotes the development of therapeutic efficiency (...) consequently supervision must be acknowledged as a cornerstone of clinical practice' (Community Psychiatric Nurses Association, 1989). The study analyzes topics, process and outcome of a Leader-Led Peer Group Supervision, inside a TC for psychiatric patients. The research project aims to recognize the main topics of group supervision, in order to analyze its process. The main hypothesis is that supervi…
