Word which becomes an image in the tradition of Syriac Christians. The paper examines the subject of figurative art in the theological space of the tradition of Syriac Churches. Even if in the early stage of their existence those communities were an integral part of Byzantine Empire, they developed a totally different pattern of the imaging, which didn’t consist in icons or in the other forms of the traditional art. Chaoskampf in the orthodox baptism ritual

The present article analyses the occurrence of the Chaoskampf motif in the Orthodox Baptism ritual and its biblical and Near-Eastern backgrounds. Such statements are direct references to Old and New Testament texts in which water has negative connotations, being associated with hostile or chaotic aspects of existence. In the baptismal interpretation of the biblical motif, sea, depths and dragons are figurative names for demons. The liturgical reinterpretation of these biblical references is the preamble of the baptismal exorcisms. Modeling of low-noise microwave HEMTs for CAD-oriented applications

The simultaneous determination of noise, gain and scattering parameters through a computer-driven noise figure measuring system allowed the rapid and accurate characterization of several samples of low noise HEMTs of the same family. From the measured parameters an equivalent circuit model representing the behavior of the typical device is extracted by means of a decomposition approach. Comparison between the model performance and the set of measured parameters of all devices are reported for the FHR 02FH (by Fujitsu). The modeling procedure is mainly oriented to the CAD of (M)MIC low noise wideband amplifiers. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

This article focuses on understanding the social construction of male identity in Finland in the 1960s and 1970s. Sporting experiences of the author are used as material for memory-work (Erinnerungsarbeit), the key experience here being illness (Asthma). By writing through it, the author thematizes the healthy, sporting, and disciplined body inscribed in hegemonic masculinity.
Investigation of the skin lesions in lightning strike death

Lightning strike-related deaths are unusual, and the victim bodies can present different lesions due to the different injury mechanisms associated with this event. Since the post mortem assessment can be challenging, the evaluation of the characteristics of the skin lesions becomes fundamental to reconstruct the event. Due to the paucity of literature on this topic, the authors report the case of a 59-year-old man found dead near his home after a thunderstorm. Initially considered a murder by gunshot, the autopsy revealed the typical lightning strike lesions, also known as Lichtenberg figures.
