Reformulaciones recientes de la autonomía individual liberal : autonomías relacionales, no soberanas y vulnerabilidad

Este trabajo propone un recorrido por tres vías que pueden identificarse en el panorama actual como reformulaciones de la autonomía liberal tradicional que intentan renovar las discusiones que tuvieron fuerza en la década del 80. Se plantean entonces en primer lugar, los rasgos comunes de estas propuestas, los puntos en los que focalizan sus críticas y su diferencia con los embates que la autonomía liberal recibió en el pasado.Luego se analizan brevemente las tres formas de reconceptualizar la autonomía: la autonomía relacional, no soberana, y las teorías que enfatizan la vulnerabilidad humana.

An Investigation of the Roles of Group Identification, Perceived Ability, and Evaluative Conditions in Stereotype Threat Experiences

The Multi-Threat Framework distinguishes six qualitatively distinct stereotype threats. Up to now, few studies have been performed to identify the situational and individual determinants of different stereotype threat experiences. This study investigates the role of group identification, perceived ability, and evaluative conditions (private/public) in six stereotype threat experiences for 261 French Physical Education Students. The results show that the expression level of the different stereotype threats does not vary according to evaluative conditions. Classical cardiovascular risk factors according to fasting plasma glucose levels

To compare the prevalence of classical cardiovascular risk factors (CVRF) and metabolic syndrome (MetS) in our population according to fasting plasma glucose levels (FPG).We have studied 344 subjects between 20-70 years of age, recruited in a Primary Care Clinic. Teacher Support Resources, Need Satisfaction and Well-Being.

AbstractBased on Job Demands-Resources Model (JD-R), this study examines the relationships among teacher support resources, psychological need satisfaction, engagement and burnout in a sample of 282 Spanish secondary school teachers. Nine teacher psychological needs were identified based on the study of Bess and on the Self-Determination Theory (SDT). Self-report questionnaires were used to measure the constructs selected for this study and their interrelationships were examined by structural equation modeling. Facilitating Effect of Natural Frequencies: Size Does Not Matter

The question of whether humans are able to work in a Bayesian way is currently a topic of substantial investigation. An important finding, reported by Gigerenzer and Hoffrage in 1995 is that Bayesian reasoning is facilitated when the information format corresponds to natural frequencies. The present concern was whether the facilitating effect of frequencies persists when natural frequencies relate to samples which are not convenient multiples of 10. 150 undergraduates participated as volunteers (42 men, 108 women; M age = 23 yr.). Analysis showed the effect of natural frequency formats was not dependent on size of reference class. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.

Work-related stress and well-being: The roles of direct action coping and palliative coping

The purpose of the present study is to analyze the roles of direct action coping and palliative coping in the relationship between work stressors and psychological well-being, as well as their possible interactions, in a sample of 464 bank employees. Hierarchical regression analyses showed main effects of direct action coping on well-being. Palliative coping predicts higher levels of psychological distress. Contrary to what was expected, the interactions between work stressors and direct action coping were not significant. Transformational Leadership in the Local Police in Spain: a Leader-Follower Distance Approach

AbstractBased on the transformational leadership theory (Bass, 1985), the aim of the present study was to analyze the differences in leadership styles according to the various leading ranks and the organizational follower-leader distance reported by a representative sample of 975 local police members (828 male and 147 female) from Valencian Community (Spain).
