D2R striatopallidal neurons inhibit both locomotor and drug reward processes.

The specific functions of dopamine D(2) receptor-positive (D(2)R) striatopallidal neurons remain poorly understood. Using a genetic mouse model, we found that ablation of D(2)R neurons in the entire striatum induced hyperlocomotion, whereas ablation in the ventral striatum increased amphetamine conditioned place preference. Thus D(2)R striatopallidal neurons limit both locomotion and, unexpectedly, drug reinforcement.

The purpose of this study was to i) examine reliability and construct validity of the pictorial scale of Perceived Movement Skill Competence (PMSC) aligned to the third version of the Test of Gross Motor Development (TGMD-3) in a sample of Spanish children; and to ii) analyse the validity of the PMSC and children’s perceived motor competence (MC) according to gender. A study of the relationship between regulatory systems, assessment e locomotion, and online learning groups

The present paper examines the relationship between assessment, locomotion and attitudes and learning outcomes in a Computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) framework. Results showed that regulatory mode predicted exam marks, numbers of tasks completed, messages sent and attitudes towards the course and the ingroup. The theoretical implications and some reflections about CSCL and Regulatory-mode Theory (RMT) are presented.

Cognitive demands impair postural control in developmental dyslexia: A negative effect that can be compensated

Children with developmental dyslexia exhibit delayed reading abilities and various sensori-motor deficits. The way these various symptoms interact remain poorly understood. The objective of this study was twofold. First, we aimed to investigate whether postural control was impaired in dyslexic children when cognitive demands are increased. Second, we checked whether this effect could be reduced significantly by a treatment aiming to recalibrate ocular proprioception. Intra- and inter-foot coordination in quiet standing: footwear and posture effects.

Intra-foot coordination between center of pressure (COP) of the ball and heel of the foot in single leg standing and inter-foot coordination of the right and left foot during bipedal stance was examined as a function of postural stance (two legs, one leg, and toe postures), footwear (barefoot, different area based high heel shoes) and postural training (ballet group and regular exercising group). Ankle muscle strength discriminates fallers from non-fallers

This relationship has never been investigated in elderly fallers (EF).
