La dote, il ius singulare e il ‘sistema didattico’ di Gaio

This paper discusses the idea that the gap regarding the dowry in Gaius’ Institutes is due to the fact that Gaius intentionally did not deal with this subject because he considered it as 'ius singulare' and that this omission was filled in by a 'liber singularis' outside the Institutes. The existence of a "didactic system" made up of the Gaius’ Institutes and four 'libri singulares' for the classical age of Roman Law is also disputed.

Nel contributo si discute l'idea che la lacuna relativa alla dote nelle Istituzioni di Gaio sarebbe dovuta alla circostanza che Gaio non aveva l'intenzione di occuparsi di questa materia perché la considerava 'ius singulare' e che tale omissione era colmata da un 'liber singularis' esterno al manuale istituzionale. Time spent on the smartphone does not relate to manual dexterity in young adults.

Abstract Background The Grooved Pegboard Test (GPT) is widely adopted to evaluate manual dexterity, it presents normative data but the test is influenced by different factors. The influence of time spent on smartphones has not been considered before, for this reason, the objective of this study was to evaluate if smartphone use influences the time to complete the GPT. A total of 38 (21 women; 17 men) young adults 20.7 (1.5) years participated in the study. Effect of the mechanical harvest of drupes on the quality characteristics of green fermented table olives

Background: Because of damage caused by mechanical harvesting, the drupes for table olive production are traditionally hand harvested. Until now, no data have been available on the microbiological and chemical features of mechanically harvested drupes during fermentation. Results: Drupes mechanically harvested and inoculated with Lactobacillus pentosus OM13 were characterized by the lowest concentrations of potential spoilage microorganisms. On the other hand, drupes mechanically harvested and subjected to spontaneous fermentation showed the highest concentration of Enterobacteriaceae and pseudomonads during transformation. Abstract Background FOXP2 was described as the first gene involved in our ability to acquire spoken language. The main objective of this study was to compare the distribution of FOXP2 gene polymorphisms between patients with schizophrenia and healthy controls. Methods Two FOXP2 polymorphisms, Intron3a and SNP 923875, and the G→A transition in exon 14 were analysed in 149 patients with schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorders according to DSM-IV, as well as in 137 controls. Translational animal models for studying post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) are valuable for elucidating the poorly understood neurobiology of this neuropsychiatric disorder. These models should encompass crucial features, including persistence of PTSD-like phenotypes triggered after exposure to a single traumatic event, trauma susceptibility/resilience and predictive validity. Here we propose a novel arousal-based individual screening (AIS) model that recapitulates all these features.
