Perinatal alcohol exposure affects ontogenic neurodevelopment, causing physical and functional long-term abnormalities with limited treatment options. This study investigated long-term consequences of continuous and intermittent maternal alcohol drinking on behavioral readouts of cognitive function and alcohol vulnerability in the offspring. Taking cue from the words of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, the essay analyzes a gallery of photographic images portraying «family photos», made in Sicily between the end of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century, which are placed in an intermediate space between oral and written traditions becoming «biographical object». Memorial Tourism - a Turn toward Locality

This paper presents the phenomenon of travelling to places of memory, with particular emphasis on their local naturę. Examples discussed include places of memory directly related to the miners’profession, in particular those that are devoted to the victims of tragic events that took place in mines. In the last few years tourists have become more interested in places of memory related to mining, which is directly associated with the functioning of the nature-tourist trail called “Following the miners’ toil”, created on the initiative of the members of “Sokół” Cycling Club, which is a part of PTTK Division in Radlin.

Neuroimaging, neuropsychological, and brain stimulation studies have led to contrasting findings regarding the potential roles of the lateral parietal lobe in episodic memory. Questo articolo, prendendo l’avvio dalle suggestioni offerte dal pamphlhet History Manifesto di Jo Guldi e David Armitage, analizza la storia come fenomeno educativo. Dopo avere esaminato le due sfide educative del presentismo e del passatismo come espressione dell’eccesso di tempo che contraddistingue la surmodernità, viene ribadita la valenza educativa della storia. In particolare, la memoria storica, interpretata alla luce del paradigma elaborato dalla ricerca storico-educativa e dei programmi scolastici presentati nel corso del Novecento in Italia, rivela tutta la sua efficacia educativa in quanto ricostruzione di molteplici e diversificate memorie. Questo articolo, prendendo l’avvio dalle suggestioni offerte dal recente pamphlet "History Manifesto" (2015) analizza la storia come fenomeno educativo. Confrontandosi con il presentismo attuale e con i nuovi orientamenti della storiografia, la memoria viene interpretata con un approccio storico che si sofferma criticamente da un lato sui programmi scolastici, dall’altro sul nuovo paradigma elaborato dalla ricerca storico-educativa nel corso del Novecento in Italia.
