The question over how grammar should be taught has been discussed amongst s everal linguistics scholars. The following paper focus on the growing interest in structuring the learning environment in order to promote the psycho-social-attitudinal development of the infant. The montessorian approach enhances a child-friendly environment. It facilitates active participation in the child’s daily life, thus contributing towards a higher level of independence, self-awareness, self-esteem and self-evaluation. The survey conducted in June 2019 shows that in Sicily less people are adopting montessorian approach nowadays into the early childhood structures.

System identification via optimised wavelet-based neural networks

Nonlinear system identification by means of wavelet-based neural networks (WBNNs) is presented. An iterative method is proposed, based on a way of combining genetic algorithms (GAs) and least-square techniques with the aim of avoiding redundancy in the representation of the function. GAs are used for optimal selection of the structure of the WBNN and the parameters of the transfer function of its neurones. Least-square techniques are used to update the weights of the net. Embedding Preschool Assessment Methods into Digital Learning Games to Predict Early Reading Skills

The aim of this pilot study was to explore the predictive accuracy of computer-based assessment tasks (embedded within the GraphoLearn digital learning game platform) in identifying slow and normal readers. The results were compared to those obtained from the traditional paper-and-pencil tasks currently used to assess school readiness in Finland. The data were derived from a cohort of preschool-age children (mean age 6.7 years, N = 57) from a town in central Finland. Learning to live involves acquiring many skills, for which in some cases there is a natural predisposition, but which always require a "guided" exercise in real life contexts so that the person acquires the skills necessary to "live properly". The research was conducted with a group of 153 students from the Master of Science in Primary Education, who participated in a two-year training project during the academic years 2020-21 and 2021-22. This article describes whether and to what extent the students believe they have developed the four chosen life skills and which of the training methodologies adopted by the lecturers were most effective.
