Green extraction approach for the recovery of polyphenols from Croatian olive leaves (Olea europea)

Abstract Pressurized liquid extraction (PLE) is shown as an innovative green technology for the effective extraction of the various phytochemicals from food by-products, therefore the aims of this study were to evaluate the application of PLE to engineer green extracts of Croatian olive leaves ( Olea europaea , cv. Oblica) for potential industrial production (functional foods/pharmaceuticals). PLE was conducted under various cycle numbers (1, 2), temperature (60, 80, 100 °C) and static times (5, 10, 15 min). Graffiti and street art research (GSAR) has become more acknowledged within the academic discourse; however, it has much to gain from theorising its methodological aspects. As a multidisciplinary field, GSAR has mostly used qualitative research methods, exploring urban space through methods that range from visual recordings to ethnography, emphasising the researchers’ reflexivity. This qualitative approach has, however, paid little attention to the role of embodied practices. Financial Fragmentation and Economic Growth in Europe

Using industry data from Eurostat and applying the Rajan-Zingales methodology, we investigate the real growth effects of banking sector integration in the European Union. Our sample stretches from 2000 until 2012 and includes the phase of rapid financial integration before the global financial crisis as well as the following phase of financial fragmentation and bank deleveraging. We find evidence that banking sector integration had a more than four times stronger growth effect during the crisis than in normal times. L’attenzione per la cooperazione internazionale allo sviluppo e alle sue ricadute professionali è stata ben presente nell’antropologia italiana e all’interno dei convegni SIAA, ma il dibattito in seno all’associazione è rimasto per il momento sottodimensionato rispetto a un altro ambito di grande interesse pubblico, la migrazione dai paesi affetti da conflitti e povertà verso l’Europa e al ruolo che gli antropologi possono svolgere nelle politiche di accoglienza.

The Use of Latent Semantic Analysis in the Positive Psychology: A Comparison with Twitter Posts

In the last decade, the positive psychology and specifically the 'Positive Youth Development' (PYD) give efforts to positive aspect and strength that performance as protective factors of adjustment problems and psycho-social well-being, such as courage. To better understand the definition of courage in Italian context, 1199 participants were involved in the present study and we asked them to answer to the following question "Courage is...". The participant's definitions of courage were analyzed with the Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA), in order to study the "fundamental concepts" arising from the population. An analogous comparison with Twitter posts has been also carried out.
