Abstract A new method—negative pressure cavitation extraction (NPCE) was proposed and investigated for the extraction of the main isoflavonoids, namely genistein and genistin from pigeon pea roots. The effects of extraction time and particle size on the extraction yields were firstly optimized, then a central composite design (CCD) combined with response surface methodology (RSM) was used to study the effects of negative pressure, ethanol concentration and liquid/solid ratio on the extraction yields. The aim of this paper was to describe exhaustively, but concisely, the matter of the health technology assessment. It is a method of evaluating health technologies based on principles and tools of Evidence Based Medicine. We started from etymology to speak about its definition and implementation methodology. Moreover we guide the reader throughout the constellation of international societies of health technology assessment and the meaning of their international cooperation. Finally, we deal with the health technology assessment as a tool being an integral part of the clinical governance process.

Aquest treball es planteja per conèixer més de primera mà la comprensió i assimilació de textos escrits, en alumnes de l'actual ensenyament secundari. La mostra emprada va ser de 28 alumnes entre 14 i 20 anys, de 3r d'ESO i COU majoritàriament, de l'Institut d'Ensenyament Secundari «Alameda de Osuna» de Madrid. Els resultats obtinguts en aquest estudi indiquen que, en els lectors de menor edat els processos de lectura són més simples i en alguns casos incomplets, mentre que els lectors de major edat fan una lectura que implica processos cognitius més complexos, adequats i profunds.

In this study, the efficient full-wave analysis of passive devices composed of circular and arbitrarily-shaped waveguides is considered. For this purpose, the well-known boundary integral-resonant mode expansion (BI RME) method has been properly extended. Circular waveguides are used for resonant mode expansion, whereas the arbitrary contour is defined by any combination of straight, circular and elliptical segments, thus allowing the exact representation of the most widely used geometries. Concept Analysis in Programming Language Research : Done Well It Is All Right

Programming language research is becoming method conscious. Rigorous mathematical or empirical evaluation is often demanded, which is a good thing. However, I argue in this essay that concept analysis is a legitimate research approach in programming languages, with important limitations. It can be used to sharpen vague concepts, and to expose distinctions that have previously been overlooked, but it does not demonstrate the superiority of one language design over another. Arguments and counter-arguments are essential to successful concept analysis, and such thoughtful conversations should be published more. peerReviewed
Language Learning Methodology for Adults: A Study of Linguistic Transfer

Abstract The purpose of the present research is to bring together the evidence on transfer in adult L2 and L3 language acquisition and investigate the use and the relationship between languages in contact. The role of linguistic transfer ( Odlin, 1989 ) i.e. the imposition of previously learned patterns onto a new learning situation, has a facilitation or inhibition effect on the learner's progress in mastering a new language (L2 or L3).
