Bakalaura darbs ir veltīts epistēmiskās objektivitātes un epistēmiskās modalitātes žurnālistikas diskursā jautājuma apskatei itāļu laikrakstā "Corriere della Sera". Laika posms, kura ietvaros tiek pētīta epistēmisko modalitāti izsakošo valodas līdzekļu klātesamība avīzes rakstos, ir divu gadu - 2013 – 2015 - periods. Īpaša uzmanība darbā tiek vērsta uz modālo darbības vārdu (potere/varēt; dovere/vajadzēt) to dažādās gramatiskajās izteiksmēs izpēti un lietojuma analīzi. Possession and volition in the development of modal meanings: a case-study from Sicilian

This article analyses two Sicilian modal constructions involving vuliri 'want' + infinitive and aviri a ‘have to’ + infinitive. They are used to express modal values, both non-epistemic and epistemic, and futurity. Based on Langacker's Cognitive Grammar assumptions, we describe the semantic network associated with each modal, as well as their semantic overlap. In addition, we describe how modal values interact with temporal-aspectual inflection. Our analysis shows that the epistemic values of vuliri are quite peripheral, while aviri a shows a high degree of polysemy, both in the non-epistemic and in the more abstract epistemic domain. Nanoparticle contrast agents for MRI may aid in identifying atherosclerotic lesions that give rise to ischemic events by means of penetration and retention in the plaque. These imaging agents may provide valuable information regarding plaque characteristics which can help determine the risk of plaque rupture. By increasing molecular flexibility or adding a means of specifically targeting ligands via antibody or peptide, nanoparticles can enhance certain regions of the atherosclerotic plaque.
