Immediate Loading with Fixed Full-Arch Prosthesis in the Edentulous Patient: Treatment Protocol

2019

Immediate loading is basically a prosthetic concept. However, the surgical implantological planning is very important to ensure a primary stability in the total edentulous patient. This characteristic is crucial to allow immediate loading in this type of patients. For the first time, the incisional design has allowed the clinician to overview about the surgical side. Later, maybe, the bone will need an osteoplasty to regularize possible bone defects. To ensure primary stability, it can use methods to enhance primary stability as undersized drilling technique and use of osteotomes and bi-cortical anchorage implants. There are two main protocols to obtain temporary immediate loading full-arch…

Introduction to Immediate Loading in Implantology

2019

Branemark traditional recommendation was to perform implant rehabilitation in two stages: the first entry was only for implant placement; after 3–6 months of undisturbed submerged healing for mandible and maxilla, respectively, a second surgical entry would have allowed loading of the implants. The rationale behind this approach was that implant micro-movements as consequence by an inadequate primary stability, caused by functional forces at the bone-implant interface in the early wound healing stages, could have induced fibrous tissue formation rather than new bone, eventually causing clinical failure. The main request was to reduce the overall rehabilitation time from surgery to final res…

In present days the storical heritage the transmission of art and its performance is very important argument of debate. Its representation is the building museum in many different forms. The building museum of art is the most important place for exsposition of masterpieces instead the museum of architecture exhibits the works through projects and patterns. Today museum reconstructs the human perception of space using new technologies. The same thing happens for the museum of science and technique where the visitor gets involved in scientific representation. Therefore museum can be a place of study and scientific research. It can be either memory of past times or place of contemporaneity. This study expresses origin and meaning of building museum through the critical analysis of architectonic forms technological aims and the proper use of the exspositive space.Settore ICAR/12 - Tecnologia Dell'Architettura

Brancati su Pirandello e il pirandellismo

2019

In the short novel "Sogno di un valzer" published on "Quadrivio" from 5 June to 14 August 1938 Vitaliano Brancati enacts between observation of places and survey of customs a world beyond measure constantly hovering between reality and dream. In Caltanissetta (Nissa) the city in which the writer is the magistral institute turned his back on fascist Rome he came to teach unobtrusive insignificant characters who nevertheless covet desires racking their brains in metaphysical questions. Thus the leitmotiv of the critics of pirandellism takes shape which often with subtle irony emerges in the Brancatian writings. The essay shows how it intertwines with the sulphurous comedy of the writer of Don Giovanni in Sicilia who tracing a particular topography of the island supported by inner relief leads his analysis of eccentric behaviors and of the aberrations of the mind in which the trivialized Pirandellian thought ends to become an explosive element.

Molte Palermo. Temi

2019

In the theme of unfinished ideas of possible cities will recognize the connotative paradigm of the evolution of Palermo will be recognised along a thousand year path of transformational processes none of which was completed by virtue of the distinctive value of exemplum that does not require additional and conclusive demonstrations. The course of history has moreover imposed on Palermo a cyclical recurrence of broken destinies. This was evidence of the invention of the capital city that of the “geometric square and the cross roads” superimposed on the archetypal underpinning of Pan-ormos as a place of exchange. And incompleteness will be the hallmark of the city of the nineteenth century straight roads heading towards undefined destinations the symptomatic expression of the idea of a preordained effect of suspension. Similarly unfinished will be the Palermo of the redevelopment plans in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries upto the shapeless development of the contemporary city and the new arterial routes (the Circonvallazione) manifestations of further “Palermo as abstraction” ever more distant from “Palermo as places”. A city ultimately characterized by continuous metamorphoses replacement of values absorptions oblivion and cultural desecration. From this distance one can indeed observe Palermo from a marginal and peripherical point of view as regards its urban limits opening up a different prospect penetrating and maybe even superior able to understand facts and phenomena in depth.Settore ICAR/14 - Composizione Architettonica E Urbana

PROMOTING INCLUSION BY BRINGING EDUCATION OUT-DOORS: OUTCOMES OF EXPLORATORY RESEARCH WITH TEACHERS

2023

Signing the Agenda 2030 in 2015, 193 Member Countries of the United Nation unequivocally declared the intention to pursue their efforts to actively restructure a sustainable world. Inter alia, through Goal 4, the Agenda links the achievement of sustainable and democratic development to the theme of inclusion, which has been animating both the pedagogical and political international debate for more than two decades. What stands out is the need to address the education to all, no one excluded, in order to foster the human empowerment at a personal, community and social level. That indistinguishably means to give all students a fair opportunity to flourish and fully realize their potential, in…

Place brand as an emergent property: The case of Vascitour and Naples

2019

In this paper, by adopting a systemic framework, we argue that place's adaptive connotation be considered as a mere result of endogenous processes but as a viable system that will remain viable if it can continue to answer the needs of its numerous heterogeneous internal and external socio-economic agents. Place can be seen as a complex adaptive system characterized by a more or less planned evolution, driven by both top-down and bottom-up processes, and composed of various interconnecting parts that, at the same time, can be seen as wholes at different levels as an holoarchy. The model of the holoarchy allows to consider the place as the result of both planned and spontaneous relationships…

Distinctive and comparative places: Alternative narratives of distinction within international student mobility

2017

Moving beyond the ‘world-class’ institutional model of international student mobility, this paper examines alternative narratives of distinction relating to place of study. Drawing on semi-structured interviews with international students at universities in the UK, Austria and Latvia, we illustrate how students inside and outside mainstream reputable higher education institutions narrate and reconfigure markers of distinction to validate their international mobility and location of study, in part to compete with peers at other (more prestigious) institutions. We demonstrate the importance of lifestyle and experiential places within a global differentiated higher education landscape and argu…
