Il contributo, attraverso uno studio di campo, con un approccio geografico culturale esplora le modalità attraverso cui uno spazio urbano, piazza Vittorio Emanuele Orlando a Palermo, può essere oggetto di complessi processi di (ri)semantizzazione. La piazza diviene infatti luogo per sport giovanili improvvisati, al centro di dialettiche opposte (ufficialità/improvisazione) e di forme multistratificate di socialità e aggregazione.

The chapter through a field study with a cultural geographical approach explores the ways in which urban space Piazza Vittorio Emanuele Orlando in Palermo can be the subject of complex processes of (re) semantization. In fact the square becomes a place for improvised youth sports at the center of opposing dialectics (official/improvisation) and multi-layered forms of socializing and aggregation.

The definition "Franco-Caribbean Literature" used by convention from the critique to indicate all the literary production in French of the central region of the American continent is very improper. The Caribbean region includes in fact the islands of Martinique Guadeloupe Haïti and the Guiana. Despite the diversity of ideological movements and historical events that took place in these countries the literary works of the Caribbean writers have fluctuated and continue to oscillate between two tendencies: that of rooting in tradition and that of escape from it. The writers show themselves open to comparison and dialogue with other literary and cultural traditions in order to create a narrative form that corresponds to the many inheritances of those composite populations. Here the cultural syncretism that has been created allows to recognize a common identity in the name of all that the West wanted to extinguish. The common denominator seems to be inverted in the contradictory result of courageous but dangerous encounters of curiosities that can lead to conflicts to exclusions.

The projects prepared for "Palermo South-East" are the result of a Graduate Laboratory structured through meetings seminars specialist communications critical exhibitions which - in a shared strategy - saw each student elaborate their work in comparison with others actors of the same Laboratory. The research on "urban projects" was set so that each graduating student was made aware of the projects carried out in the same geographical area by the colleagues who had preceded it so as to be able to operate in continuity and contribute to formulating a unitary reasoning in which each project constituted continuation verification or even variant of the previous ones. These coordinated works have pursued two fundamental objectives: the strengthening of infrastructures and the establishment of specialized public buildings with superior functions aimed at requalifying and regenerating various critical situations with particular attention to the relationship between context and life scenarios. Thus each designer while dealing with a main functional program simultaneously deals with various issues such as the rationalization of the road system the redevelopment of existing buildings the design and refunctionalization of urban services (for example the transformed Central Station in the hotel or the project of a great Mosque)several degree theses have addressed as the main theme or as a question in the background the design of a new bed for the Oreto river and the relative establishment of a park facing it. Anti-fetal immune response mechanisms may be involved in the pathogenesis of placental abruption

Placental abruption is an unpredictable severe complication in pregnancy. In order to investigate the possibility that the activation of the fetal nonadaptive immune system may be involved in the pathogenesis of this disease, IL-6 release from cord blood monocytes was examined by intracellular cytokine staining and flow cytometric analysis. Our results demonstrate that preterm placental abruption (n = 15) in contrast to uncontrollable preterm labor (n = 33) is associated with significantly (P < 0.001) increased release of IL-6 from the fetal monocytes. D2R striatopallidal neurons inhibit both locomotor and drug reward processes.

The specific functions of dopamine D(2) receptor-positive (D(2)R) striatopallidal neurons remain poorly understood. Using a genetic mouse model, we found that ablation of D(2)R neurons in the entire striatum induced hyperlocomotion, whereas ablation in the ventral striatum increased amphetamine conditioned place preference. Thus D(2)R striatopallidal neurons limit both locomotion and, unexpectedly, drug reinforcement.

Customized Titanium Lattice Structure in Three-Dimensional Alveolar Defect: An Initial Case Letter

The aim of this initial case report was to provide a new protocol for the clinical application of a patient-specific titanium lattice structure (Yxoss CBR®, ReOSS, Filderstadt, Germany) for customized bone regeneration. To obtain a 3-dimensional reconstruction of a posterior mandible segment in a 61-year-old woman, a patient-specific titanium customized lattice structure was used. As graft material autogenous bone tissue mixed with xenogenic alloplastic material (Bio Oss®, Geistlich Pharma, Wolhusen, Switzerland) was obtained for reconstruction. The Uprooting in the Narrative Language of Foreign Land by Jonathan Raban
