Group analysis is a methodology that localizes the interactions arising from patients' symptoms and personality disorders. This marks the passage from a clinical-character aspect to a direct vision of the conflictual and unconscious borders between Ego and Superego. Thus the traumatic personal history of the individual is relatively freed from the constrictions of the repetition compulsion present in the symptomatic structures. The author maintains that combined therapy (a weekly group session and a weekly individual session) reduces cases of abandonment of the group caused by the deepest resistances of the id.

Abstract The authors evaluated 617 patients at hospital admission using an interpersonal interview analyzed with the Adult Attachment Prototype Rating (Strauss, Lobo-Drost, & Pilkonis, 1999) in nine different psychotherapeutic hospitals. Attachment characteristics derived from this method served as predictors of treatment outcome. Outcome was quantified in all sites using the Symptom Checklist-90-Revised, Inventory of Interpersonal Problems, and, in a subsample, the Impairment Score (Schepank, 2003) as an observer rating. On the dynamics of learning in elementary schools. - The statistical results presented in this paper are based on data from a longitudinal survey of elementary school children in the Dijon area. They provide strong support for the hypothesis — which stresses the cumulative aspect of learning, predicting that better mastery of concepts and higher levels of initial learning are inputs which aid in further acquisition of learning — indicating that differences in learning in grade 1 that are attributable to pedagogical inputs exert a large and statistically significant effect on learning in grades 2 and 3.

This paper examines the situation of classroom assistants who were recruited three years ago in French schools. This research took place in 150 schools (academy of Burgundy) in which two age groups (8 and 10) were assessed both at the begining and the end of the school year. It concerned a large sample of classroom assistants (150) whose timetables have been collected to know precisely how their time is used in schools and how it may influence students achievement. AbstractObjective: A Psychotherapy Process Q-set (PQS) prototype characteristic of short-term psychodynamic therapy (STPP) does not yet exist. Method: Experts in supportive-expressive (SE) therapy used the 100-Item PQS questionnaire to rate an ideal short-term SE therapy. Results: Agreement between raters was high (Cronbach's alpha = 0.94). The prototype for SE therapy showed a significant correlation with the psychoanalytic prototype, but with 28% of variance explained, the majority of variance of the former was not explained by the latter or vice versa. The main tenets of action language are summarized in an attempt to discern the direction in which psychoanalysis might go if action language becomes the "new metapsychology." The principal roots of action language are traced to the different linguistic/language and personality-and-culture models of anthropology and to the neobehaviorist currents of academic psychology. The authors' findings support the hypothesis that action language is a form os psychoanalytic behaviorism having idealism, logical positivism, and radical empiricism as its philosophical underpinnings.
