Architecture, materials and languages. From marble to stone and viceversa (Sicily 15th-16th centuries)
2018
Archaeometric Characterisation of Decorated Pottery from the Archaeological Site of Villa dei Quintili (Rome, Italy): Preliminary Study
2019
This work focused on the study of decorated pottery dated back to the 16th century from the Roman archaeological site of Villa dei Quintili, a monumental complex located in the south-eastern part of Rome (Italy). A minero-petrographic and geochemical study was undertaken to analyse five archaeological samples in order to define textural features and raw materials used for their production, along with the chemical and physical composition of the superficial decorative glazed coatings. For this purpose, different analytical methods were used, such as polarising optical microscope (POM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), micro-Raman spectroscopy, X-Ray fluorescence (XRF), and electron microprobe analys…
WE-C-141-01: Research and Relevance of Brachytherapy Dose Calculation Advancements
2013
Research and Relevance of Brachytherapy Dose Calculation Advancements Organizer: Mark J. Rivard Moderator: Geoffrey S. Ibbott Speakers: Facundo Ballester, Asa Carlsson Tedgren, Firas Mourtada Brachytherapy dosimetry is undergoing a renaissance with the scrutiny of the AAPM TG‐43 dose calculation formalism and comparisons with alternate approaches such as the Monte Carlo method, the grid‐based Boltzmann solvers, and the collapsed‐cone technique. Treatment planning systems (TPS) using these more advanced, model‐based dose calculation algorithms (MBDCAs) are now available for clinical use. However, their accuracy and the preferred method for their use have not been established. Thus, it is imp…
2022
The contribution analyzes Adriano Banchieri’s “La Pazzia Senile” (1598-59) both as a publishing product, following its genesis and fortune, and as a poetic-musical artifact, examining its compositional style and performative implications. An in-depth study is devoted in particular to the relationship between “La Pazzia Senile” and commedia dell'arte

2021
In the 16th and 17th century, changes that took place in Polish culture contributed to the consolidation of the image of the Polish nobleman. It was influenced by numerous factors resulting both from the cultural and artistic aspirations of free citizens of the Commonwealth, as well as from the specificity of the Polish state, which from 1569, after the union with Lithuania, spread over vast territories, being constantly plagued by wars. Active participation in the culture of the European Renaissance distinguished Poland from other Slavic nations and had its literary dimension by taking over the ideas typical for this cultural movement, popular among the nobility dealing mainly with agricul…
Reproducibility in Electroorganic Synthesis—Myths and Misunderstandings
2021
Abstract The use of electric current as a traceless activator and reagent is experiencing a renaissance. This sustainable synthetic method is evolving into a hot topic in contemporary organic chemistry. Since researchers with various scientific backgrounds are entering this interdisciplinary field, different parameters and methods are reported to describe the experiments. The variation in the reported parameters can lead to problems with the reproducibility of the reported electroorganic syntheses. As an example, parameters such as current density or electrode distance are in some cases more significant than often anticipated. This Minireview provides guidelines on reporting electrosyntheti…
Współczesne spojrzenie na edukacyjne i pedagogiczne motywy w dziele Tomasza Morusa "Utopia" (1516)
2017
